Chapter Nine: Assassination Attempt

1109 Words
No one came to mind as the pillow pressed down on me. I tried everything possible to get him off, but his grip was too strong, and he had good posture. All I needed was one wrong posture, a slight shift in strength, and I would be able to get out of this s**t hole. I haven't even slept well in this mansion, and I'm already a victim of assassination, if I don't die under his weight. “Die already!” He was about to increase his pressure, but his leg shifted slightly, and the pressure reduced slightly. Without thinking, I grabbed the glass cup that was sitting pretty next to the desk next to the lamp. He was too busy trying to press me down that he lost all sense of defense. Skchkkdklkdkd…. He wobbled as the glass shattered on his head. I focused my strength on my hands, pushing him off me before jumping out of the bed. I grabbed the door handle, turning the knob, but the door remained bolted to the wall. The key wasn't in the lock, and I realized that the door had been interfered with from the outside. Why was I a deep sleeper… “Where do you think you're going?” Blood trickled down his face, eyes bloodshot with some shards of glass still clinging to his head. He stood up slowly, a grin on his face as he unplugged the lamp and carried it like a weapon. “Don't come near me!” This was the first time I was facing a terrible assault where I wasn't with my tasers and other defense weapons. I searched the room, hoping to find a rod or anything I could fight with, but nothing fit in. “You should have never walked into this Mansion!” “You shouldn't have locked the door behind you.” He flinched, trying to discern what I said before realizing. “You were a bit lucky with the glass; this time you wouldn't be so lucky.” The room stood still, our eyes making contact as he closed the gap between us. I steadied myself, taking a quick stance before analyzing every possible move he could use to attack me. When he got close, he swung his arm, sending the lamp towards me with a fling. I dodged the lamp in time and was fulfilled with my success, but he was ahead. He grabbed my neck almost immediately with his left hand, pushing me onto the wall as he pinned me to it. I sent my leg in between his legs, hitting his groin without an ounce of mercy. His grip on my hand lessened, and I grabbed his hand immediately, twisting it to the back and sending my knee to his abdomen. Blood stains could be seen on the tiles as he struggled with the pain between his legs. He kept on groaning, as I kicked his face, painting the tiles red with every swing of my leg. The knob suddenly turned, the door creaking slowly as it opened up. For a minute, no one walked in, and I had to distance myself in case he had more minions. “What happened here?” His commanding tone swept the room. He had a frown on his face as he stared at the man who kept on groaning on the floor with glass shards littered on his head. He stole glances at me as he watched the pitiful man try to stand up. His eyes swept over me once, stopping at the bruises blooming around my neck. His expression didn't change, but the temperature in the room somehow dropped. He grabbed the man by the neck, raising him off the floor effortlessly. He slammed the man into the tiles, brutally sending him unconscious. “Come with me.” He commanded. I wanted to refute and ask for more information, but he turned his back on me, dragging the man on the floor as he exited the room. After heaving a sigh of relief, I followed behind him. Blood stains could be seen on the stairs, but he didn't bother about it, dragging the man down the stairs like he was an inanimate object. If the man had regained consciousness during that period, he would have been greeted by loads of pain, and he would have fallen back unconscious. Three minutes had passed since we had begun trailing down a passage with a dim red light. My eyes scanned the surroundings, and the sight of the half-naked Dylan sent my eyes trailing off in thoughts. Not only was his back very appealing for anyone to lie on, but he also had a dragon biker tattoo that trailed down his entire back. I didn't remember seeing it before, so I doubted its recency. Maybe he had used some type of invisible ink that only showed itself when he was under the red rays of lights. He tossed the man on the floor before a golden door. The door was one of a kind, carved with dragon designs and didn't have a knob. From the looks of it, the door wasn't made with ordinary iron, and the golden color that illuminated every dragon on the door seemed to have different hues the closer I looked at it. Dylan stretched his hand forward, grabbing a glove that hung next to the wall. They were dark in color, but I could see some silver designs that I couldn't really picture well. “Torture time, Lee.” A red light shone from the bigger dragon's eye, and a dark, deep voice came out from nowhere. “Good day, master. The torture room has been set up, and the tools have been taken into account.” The ground shook instantly, the door moving inwards along with the rumbling. White fumes could be seen escaping the door as the door moved to the side, revealing the entrance to another chamber. “Get behind me.” His words shook me off my thoughts as I hurried towards him. His hair swayed; the sound of his rings colliding gave the entire scene a weird and abnormal feeling. The fumes stopped leaving after a while, and he stepped into the chamber first. I walked in after, waiting for the sight that had started eating up my mind. What did he mean by torture chamber? Was this where he punished anyone who crossed him? What was with this passage and the door with no knob? Is he the only one who knows of the existence of this room? “Master… I’ll talk! I’ll tell you everything.”
