It’s a Good Home

[The Cloudberry cliff. Near Masse village] 'There the feeling is at it again, the feeling of losing something. I’m missing something again. Something that is rightfully mine and I will take it back,' is what Amadeus’ mind is working on. “Your father, where do you think he is now?” Amadeus asked the two sisters. A hint of sadness came to the two sisters, as soon as Amadeus asked that. “We don’t know,” Elise said. “The last time we spoke was him saying he remembers everything. He keeps on saying he is the reason, and that he’ll fix everything,” Amelia said as he explained. “He didn’t say anything else? To where he could have gone, any hint?” he continued to ask. “No. Just like that, we didn’t see him again,” she replied. The little girl Elise came closer as she tried to suggest something that could explain this. “Ex-knight!”  “Yes?” “Do you believe in reincarnation?” she asked as she carefully looked at Amadeus. “Elise, not this again. He is not him,” Amelia said as she tries to stop her. “It’s like in the book, what if our father died and somehow his soul—,” Elise said as she continued to explain. “Stop!” Amelia said with seriousness. She raised her voice to Elise, it could be for the first time. But the thought of their father being dead isn’t something she can accept. “Our father is not dead. I can swear to you he doesn’t die easily. It’s just only been a month. He could return anytime,” Amelia said. Elise felt smaller with her big sister raising her voice at her. “I’m sorry Elise, but have some faith in our father. He is out there fixing everything,” Amelia said apologetically as her hand rubs her forehead while she looks at Elise. 'I’m not sure what to do if I meet you, but I know what to say first, you have great daughters who love you,' Amadeus thought as he watched the two argue. 'Why does it have to be Galiet though? Did I steal that name as well? Do I really exist? No no! Galiet is mine, I remember her, I remember that song, I remember the feeling of her hand. I exist and Galiet is what she gave to me. I would never forget that I might have stolen Amadeus’ life, but not I, I can’t steal what’s already mine,' he thought as he lurked in his mind, searching for a possible answer. “I got something to tell you both,” Amadeus said, speaking up. As the sun is setting down, leaving them with the light that she bestowed, and the darkness that appears coating them with shadow. “It’s coming, Ex-night,” Elise said quietly. “What’s coming?” Amadeus asked. “The Nightingale flower, ” Amelia said as she looked to the ground. The darkness reaches the land is like water for the flower. Waking it up as soon as it touches. Exposing the beauty it was hiding, overtaking the cloudberries while it shines.  From innocent white into blooming velvety burgundy petals, a quiet and sad of mystery, one you would never imagine seeing. With its color-changing traits and the bloom it possesses, you might even think its existence is somewhat magical. 'It’s so beautiful, I felt like I had seen this before somewhere,' Amadeus thought as he looked at the beautiful sight in his view. “It’s magical and it looks sad, ” he let out. “It does. Our mother is resting here, ” Elise said as she watched the flower. “I’m sure she’s happy Elise, to be buried in such a beautiful place. She probably watches over us from here on the cliff staring at us to our home, ” Amelia said. “I agree with you sister, I get why our father chooses this place. It’s nice and calm in here, ” Elise answered. “It’s the perfect place, ” Amadeus shortly said as he calmly smiled. Upon hearing that, Elise and Amelia send out a smile of satisfaction. “We should get back now, it’s getting late, ” Amelia said as she looked at the skies. A rustling sound was soon heard in the grasses at their backs beneath the forest. As if someone were watching them. Amelia quickly rushes to search where the sound came from. It was getting late and the lands were covered with shadows, with only the moonlight shine to help them see a path. “Hello! Is someone there?” Amelia’s voice caring out to the whole forest. “Who was it? Was it you? Father?” Amelia yelled out, pleading with the dark forest to answer her back. “Please father, if you are hearing me. Please come back!” She said as her eyes venture into the darkness hoping to make up something in the dark. Nothing, the answer was nothing. No voice was heard back to respond to her plea. But even though it didn’t break her hope. “I’ll see you again when you’re ready, ” she quietly said in the air that blows near. She decided to return to Amadeus and Elise but as soon as that. She turns around only to misstep her footing causing her to fall and sprained her ankle. Amadeus and Elise soon followed. Elise, seeing her sister on the ground, quickly rushed to check on her. “What happened sister? Are you okay?” she asked as she looked around with a worried look. “Am fine, I just fell a little, ” Amelia said, assuring Elise as she tapped her head softly. “Here, grab my hand, ” Amadeus said. “Thank you, I’ll be fine let’s go home!” Amelia said as soon as she got up. “You shouldn’t walk on it, let me carry you, ” he said. “No, it’s nothing, I’m fine I can walk, ” she said. “You got nothing to be embarrassed about, sister, I don’t think you are heavy, ” Elise said, teasing her sister Amelia. “Elise!” Amelia lets out, as she shifts her gaze on Amadeus. “I’m fine let’s go, ” she shyly said. She started to walk leading the way, enduring the pain in every step. Her walking is disturbed, and her balance is off. “Let me at least support you?” He said. With no response from Amelia, Amadeus sighed and decided to force the help on her. “Amelia, I hope you’ll forgive me for this, ” he said as he walks closer to her. “Forgive you for what, yah!—” she said before she yelped suddenly. Grabbing the back of her thighs securely and her body. She’s being lifted and carried, gently like a princess. “Ex-knight!” Elise said as she smiled, enjoying a bit of the view, seeing her sister being carried. “Looking a bit more like those stories you always read to me sister, ” she added. “Oh please, I can walk, ” Amelia softly said. “Look it's hurting, it will worsen if you keep walking on it, let it rest and heal, ” Amadeus said. “I know you are doing this, showing strength, showing it for your sister, but it’s not the time yet. There will be time for that, and she will see that strength you possess, ” He quietly added as he constantly looks at her. “Okay…” she quietly responded. “Besides you both have done a lot for me, I just want to repay both of your kindness whenever I can. I owe you guys a lot, ” Amadeus said back in his normal voice. “Really? You owe us Ex-knight? Then, then can you repay us by being our own personal knight, ” Elise said excitingly. “Personal knight?” Amadeus asked. “Oh stop it, Elise, that was just a story in some books,” Amelia said with her embarrassed look. “I’ll skip some parts, it's just you would stay with us, and that you’ll protect and guard my sister and me, and we’ll dine together!” Elise said with the same tone as before. 'There is just so much joy in this young girl’s face, even her green eyes are blooming in the dark delightfully. But ever since I met them, all I ever think about is to protect their pure heart, maybe a way to redeem myself if I’m still redeemable,' Amadeus thought as he continued to walk. Amelia sees Amadeus having a mixed feeling, happy, sad, and troubled look. She decided to help him with Elise’s adorable request. “He couldn’t possibly stay Elise, there could be someone waiting for him, a family out there,” Amelia said while being carried. As they keep on walking, closing in outside of the forest. “I see… you are right sister, they could be waiting for him. Like us, waiting,” Elise said with a hint of sadness. Out in the forest. Amadeus stops walking as he stands still looking at the lovely house that is in front of him. With a windy air that softly blows on them welcoming them back. 'There is a home in front of me, just a hundred meters close, something I can finally call home. Funny it felt like for 28 years I lived. I never had a home before, I never had anything. There is always the first time Galiet, yeah' Amadeus thought as he smiled. “It’s a good home, ” he said as he calmly smiled at Elise. “I may not be a good knight, I mean, Ex-knight, but I’m very well-skilled at swords. All I ever had to play with since I was a child, ” he said. “Yes!” Elise cheered. Amadeus looks to a still a bit embarrassed Amelia with his charismatic face showing his thick brows as he speaks softly asking for permission. “If the offer is still up, I can stay and do my best to protect you both, ” he said. “I supposed, we could need some help around if you are willing, ” Amelia shyly said. “Yes, Yes, Yes, ” Elise yelled happily. “He’s going to stay with us! Woohoo! And he’ll be there to protect us, our own personal knight, ” she added. Bran was standing nearby, seeing them happily, overhearing their overjoyed voices as he creates a perfect picture that will open up his darkness.
