"I, Alpha Max of the Bloodmoon Pack, reject you, Elena Vance, as my mate."

Those brutal words shattered Elena’s heart. Cast out and abandoned for being "weak," Elena left her pack behind, carrying a dangerous secret—she was pregnant with the Alpha's child.

Five years later, Elena has built a peaceful life with her 5-year-old son, Jaxon, who secretly possesses extraordinary Alpha traits. But when a sudden threat forces Alpha Max into her territory, a twist of fate brings him face-to-face with the fiery young boy who shares his icy blue eyes.

Max is hit with a wave of intense regret. The fragile woman he once discarded is now a strong, guarded mother who wants nothing to do with him.

Can Alpha Max win back the mate he shattered, or will Elena keep her secret heir hidden from him forever?

Chapter 1: The Cold Rejection
The suffocating scent of copper, dark pine, and ancient stone filled the sacred grand hall of the Bloodmoon Pack. Sunlight filtered through the high stained-glass windows, casting long, bloody shadows across the polished marble floor. Yet, despite the majestic architecture, the atmosphere inside was colder than a grave. Elena Vance stood alone in the center of the room. Her knees trembled, and her small hands clutched the fabric of her worn dress, trying in vain to hide the erratic, frantic beating of her heart. Every breath felt like inhaling shards of broken glass. Across the hall, elevated on a raised stone dais, stood Alpha Max. He was the epitome of absolute power. Towering, lethal, and clad in obsidian warrior armor that absorbed the light around him, Max looked every bit the legendary Alpha King of the Northern Territory. His broad shoulders were square, his jawline carved from unforgiving granite, and his raven-black hair fell slightly over his forehead. But it was his eyes that tore Elena’s soul apart—two icy, storm-colored irises that stared down at her with absolute, unyielding indifference. "Max... please," Elena whispered, her voice cracking beneath the weight of a hundred silent spectators. Along the perimeter of the hall, the pack elders and high-ranking warriors sat in elevated wooden pews like hungry vultures, quietly waiting for the spectacle to unfold. Among them sat Lady Freya, a noble warrior female of high bloodline, wearing a triumphant smirk that made Elena’s stomach churn. "Address me by my proper title, Elena," Max’s voice cut through the quiet, deep and resonant, yet utterly devoid of warmth. "You are standing before your Alpha." The sheer aura of dominance laced within his tone crashed against Elena, forcing the air straight out of her lungs. She stumbled back a fraction, her eyes brimming with unshed tears. "We are mates, Max," she pleaded, taking a desperate, fragile step toward the dais. "The Moon Goddess chose us. The very second I turned eighteen at midnight, I felt the spark. I felt the golden thread linking my soul to yours. I felt you." Max took a slow, deliberate step down from the dais. The heavy thud of his combat boots echoed off the vaulted ceiling like a death knell. For a foolish, fleeting second, Elena’s heart soared. She searched his face, desperately hunting for a flicker of the boy who had grown up alongside her, the boy who had once protected her from bullies in the pack house. Instead, Max leaned down, invading her space until his cold breath brushed against her ear. His lips curled into a ruthless, cruel sneer. "A mate?" Max scoffed softly, his voice dropping to a harsh whisper meant only for her. "Look at yourself, Elena. You have no wolf inside you. You carry no prestigious lineage. You are nothing more than a fragile, fatherless orphan who collapses after a mild fever. Do you truly believe the Bloodmoon Pack needs a Luna who can be slaughtered by a stray Rogue?" The words struck deeper than any silver blade ever could. Elena gasped, clutching her chest as if her heart had just been physically pierced. Tears broke free, trailing hot paths down her pale, bruised cheeks. Max pulled back, raising his chin as his voice boomed across the vast hall, ensuring every elder, guard, and servant heard every single word. "I am the leader of the strongest pack on this continent," Max declared, his voice ringing with absolute authority. "My Luna must be a fierce warrior, a powerhouse capable of standing beside me on the front lines of battle to protect our people. You, Elena Vance... are a liability. You are nothing." "Max, don't do this to me... I beg you," she sobbed, falling hard onto her knees before him, ignoring the burning pain in her joints. "I can train. I can grow stronger. I can learn—" "Enough!" Max raised a single, leather-gloved hand, severing her pleas in an instant. A dangerous glint of his wolf, Ares, flashed behind his icy blue eyes, showing no shred of mercy or hesitation. "I, Alpha Max of the Bloodmoon Pack," he declared, his command vibrating through the stone walls with the unbreakable weight of absolute law, "hereby reject you, Elena Vance, as my mate and my Luna!" SNAP. An invisible, sacred bond deep within Elena’s chest violently shattered. An agonizing, white-hot fire seared through her veins as her very soul felt ripped into raw, bleeding pieces. A strangled, guttural scream tore from her throat, echoing endlessly into the cold stone vault. She collapsed onto her stomach, curling into a tight ball as tears blinded her vision and her body shuddered violently in pure, unbearable agony. Max stood over her, his expression unreadable. For a fraction of a millisecond, a sharp, unexplainable pang pinched at his chest, but he crushed the sensation instantly. Weakness had no place in his kingdom, and pity was a luxury an Alpha King could not afford. "Guards," Max ordered coldly, turning his back on her without a second glance. "Escort her to the outer border. She is banished from Bloodmoon territory effective immediately. If she ever dares to set foot on our lands again... execute her on sight." "Max! Please! Max!" Elena cried out, her voice raw and ruined. Two heavy, iron-clad guards stepped forward, mercilessly grabbing her upper arms and dragging her backward across the frozen marble floor. She clawed at the polished stone, her fingernails cracking, her tear-filled eyes locked onto the broad, receding back of the man she had loved her entire life. He didn't look back. Not even once. The massive, iron-reinforced oak doors slammed shut behind her with a deafening boom, plunging her into the freezing, torrential rain outside. The guards tossed her onto the muddy trail beyond the boundary stones like a piece of unwanted trash before turning back inside. Elena lay in the icy mud, shivering uncontrollably as the rain washed away her tears. She was broken, humiliated, and utterly alone in the dark wilderness. Her hands trembled as she pressed a muddy palm against her lower stomach, sobbing silently into the howling wind. She didn't know it yet... but deep within her womb, amidst the wreckage of her broken spirit, a tiny, miraculous spark of life had just ignited—the secret heir of the ruthless Alpha who had just thrown her away.
