Chapter Twelve

A look at him, she uttered no word. Her hands still wrapped around her body, she walked out with him. Could it be that Ronald had been notified? Of course, he could have known. Getting out, a car was already waiting. Could Ted have allowed her being taken this way?. Clicks of camera from every angle, the bodyguard shielded her from more shots. She could understand why they were out there. Whether she was in realization of it or not, she was already one of the media's Target. What was she even expecting? In no time, the car pulled up at the Grey's mansion. She got down and took her steps slowly towards the door. It was opened for her and she walked in. There was Aurora and Timmy sitting on the sofa. Ronald was pacing to and fro while checking his wristwatch. "Mama!" Aurora screamed and embraced her. A look at her, Miah wondered why her insides suddenly felt weird. A hand on her forehead, her eyes were begining to get blurry. With a forced smile, she took a step forward with Aurora still clinging to her legs. " Aurora, I....." She was still talking when she took another step and fell flat in a sudden. "Mama! Mama!" "Miah!" Ronald rushed to her as he carried her up. "Timmy, get the doctor." "Right away" He said and dialed a number. Aurora ran with her dad up the stairs. Anderson slammed the door behind him. "I need a report of what he was saying over the phone. I don't get him. Ronald was a step ahead of us?! Even through Ted?." Simon nodded. He puts the documents he held on the table before him and sat. " Boss, check that through. I believe there is someone leaking our information to him. There is a spy there, boss. There is. Just let me go find them out." Olivia scoffed as she walked down the stairs. "And you think Ronald wouldn't get a wind of you around? That guy has his nose snooping around at all costs. This time is much sensitive because his wedding is at the corner! If he could outsmart Ted, then we have to strategize more. I thought you two were advising me to be patient about this whole thing." "Don't turn the tables around, Olivia. I am pissed and I could kill." Olivia hissed. "So, don't tell me you want to kill your son over this little matter?" "Little matter, you say? I can see you've relented . You've forgotten how Donald threw off the dock and made you lose everything." "Would you stop infusing my matter in this whole thing? My matter has nothing to do with your mess! You guys should clean it up and not me!" "Olivia, don't step on my toes. That's a warning." "Not like you would lift a finger." Simon held his breath as he watched them. He knew he had to come up with something really fast or he would be covered in blood soon. "I have a suggestion." "That's kind of better. Let's hear it." Olivia said and sat. "I met Patricia at a bridge two weeks back and I must tell you that she is a very pretty lady." "So you want to send her to the Grey's house to get Ronald's attention when we all know that's never possible." "Olivia, can you let him speak first?" "Alright..." "She is homely too and I suggest we throw her to Miah first. I am pretty sure that Miah would accept her as a personal maid or at the very least, a cook. Then we can use her to our advantage." Anderson stood up from where he was. That sounded too unlike him. He wasn't the person who relied on others suggestions to carry out his plans. He focuses on a thing and gets it all costs. "Simon, I don't buy that. I will do it my way. I will." He stood and walked out. "I don't have anything to say because I have my plans." Olivia laughed and focused on the computers before her. Simon stared at his wristwatch. His opinions had never been put into place. His words had never been taken through but this time, he would make sure he let them know that he worth it to be in this position that was given to him. He would make sure of that. He would. The aroma of pancakes filled the air as Miah fluttered her eyes open. Where was she? A feel on her hands, she saw Aurora staring at her now. "You didn't say anything?" "I didn't want to wake you up, Mama." "But I am awake." "I know but I don't want to disturb you." Her voice broke. Her eyes were already brimming with tears. "Come here. You crybaby." Aurora came closer and she embraced her. "I scared you, right? Don't be scared. Mama is alright. I am really fine. I was just tired. Very tired." Miah stroked her hair gently. Why did life have to make her give what she never had when she was little? "Don't fall sick again, okay? Dad was very worried. He was angry too. I didn't know why though." The door opened and Ronald walked in with Timmy. "Miah, how are you feeling now?" Timmy asked. He knew his friend would still take time to process his thoughts before speaking to her. He had been like this when his mother was sick too. "I am good. Really good. Thank you for the care." "It's my pleasure. Aurora, let's go. Your dad needs to speak with Mama." "I don't want to go..I don't want to leave her." She whined. "Aurora...." Ronald finally spoke. His gaze was on her now. "Don't look at my baby that way," Miah said and looked at Aurora. "I will come pick you up by myself, alright?" Aurora nodded. "Alright Mama, and don't answer dad if he asks you anything unless he apologizes, okay?" Miah laughed and Aurora did too. She gave her dad a funny face and trotted out with Timmy after her.
