Chapter One
The Gift and the Ghost
Mai's POV
Why is love so cruel?
********************
The beaming sunlight shined brightly into the room, pierced through the curtains and caught us, filling the room with it's vibrant golden colours.
Ours bodies entwined in perfect sync, the sheets wrapped around us, the air high with tension, our bodies drenched in sweat and my fingers dug into his skin.
“f**k me!” I moaned, each thrust found it's way to my halfway damaged womb.
I studied his face as he moved, his jaw tightened with emotions, his eyes dark with desire, every movement deliberate and his lips spreading on my neck.
“Harder.” I screamed, his body flapping against mine.
He looked into my eyes, those blue eyes glowed with intent and spanked my ass.
“Ouch!”
“Do you love it?”
I nodded, swallowing the pain like juice.
“You want more?”
“Yes daddy.” I chuckled.
He pushed in again, each thrust sending shivers down my spine. They felt like electric rods pushing inside me. This wasn't just passion, every one of it was a promise, one I'll regret.
But damn, this feeling was so good. I looked at him, my hands trailed down his chest, doing some dirty work up there.
I felt the sudden change; jolts of shivers ran down his spine, his body electric as he cummed into my widened p***y.
“Oh s**t!” He moaned. “Hell yeah!”
Awww. We shouldn't stop now, but I'm tired. Like damn.
This is our last morning before everything changes. Before I become his wife, before I become Mai James.
He wrapped his arms around me, his eyes locked on to me, our sweaty bodies leaned against each other and tangled in the heap of sheet we lay on.
He runs his finger down my spine, it was tickling and kissed my neck. He slid his hands beneath the fabric and massaged those standing n*****s, making sure he had a good feel of it.
He kissed my lips with a smack as I moaned softly in pain.
He drew me closer to his side and kissed my forehead with a charming smile.
“I still can't believe I get to marry you Mia.” He chuckled.
“You better not be late,” I teased.
We giggled softly, but then his phone chimes and destroys the whole moment.
He ran his eyes through the message, his countenance shifted. I knew it. He had to go. But why so soon?
He looked at me, he already saw the sadness in my eyes. I feel like this moment shouldn't end. I just want to lay in his arms. I just want him to kiss me. I want him to f**k me. I want him to hold me. I want him, all of him.
“I'm sorry babe, but I have to go.” He begged, his hands caressing my wet lips.
“It's just some last minute coordination before the ceremony.”
“I don't want you to go.” I cried.
Hey, I ain't going anywhere. You're mine, Mai James, have you forgotten? He chuckled.
He kissed me once more, rose and put on his shirt.
I lay in the bird pouting, the suns beam filled the room and shone brightly around me wrapped in the sheets like a goddess in tears.
Just before he leaves, he jerked his sharply and smiled at me.
“I wanted to give you something special before we say 'i do.’” H
I leaned upright on the wall, eager to hear this special gift.
“The code’s your birthday. Everything I am. Everything I've built, it's yours mow.” He smiled.
My breath caught in my tightened throat. My heart stamped heavily inside my chest. My mind raced with thoughts.
I don't need the money. Come on. I need him, but the gesture on his lovely face showed his mind was made already.
I thought it was gonna be one more round.
He leans down, kisses my lips hard. It felt like he's sealing our contract with his lips and finally let go, but I didn't.
He smiled.
“See you at the altar, Mrs. James.”
I hurriedly got up and cleaned up the mess we had just made. In no distant, time, my bridesmaids arrived in, only to see me undressed and soaked in c*m.
“Oops!” I muttered in shame.
They just laughed it off.
“Let's get you dressed Mrs. Mia James.”
I smiled and let the ladies do their work.
The scrubbing was the worst part. But then, the dressing was interesting.
After a couple of hours, the bride, Mrs Mia was all set and ready to be claimed.
“We'll be on our way now Mia.” They chuckled and left.
I watched through the window. The bridal suite moving in beauty like glorious queens. The air was filled with laughter and joy. Everywhere buzzing with conversation and reunion.
The ceremony had just begun. Mom was the first to come meet me. The dazzling snow white in white lace and diamonds.
She smiled warmly and hugged me tightly.
“I'm so happy for you my darling.”
I looked at her shyly.
“I'll miss you mom.”
“Don't be silly.” She shoved.
“Aha, have you seen James, I wanted to give him something special.”
I raised an eyebrow.
“Come on Mai. Don't tell me you haven't seen each other.”
“Uh…”
Thank God. I was rescued by the knock on the door. It was Dad.
“Mia, it's time.”
I opened the door and revealed my dazzling beauty.
He gasped in shock at the wonder he just saw.
“Oh my… you're so beautiful darling.” He exhaled.
“Come here.”
We had one last big hug together and mom said some prayers and left.
“Shall we?” He smiled.
“Off course.”
My heart pounded as he offered his arms. The doors flung open, the music swells, the piano, the drums, the organs all chimed and synchronized in perfect symphony, filling the air with beautiful melody.
The guests all rise, clapping loudly and smiling as we walked.
He walked me down the aisle, my flair gown rolling on the floor and leaving traces of my beauty. My friends cry, I sighted my mom in glasses, she was hiding her tears while father smiled through the tears.
But then, my eyes scanned through the air, aiming that front row like a sniper, searching for him. But however, I was met with confusion. It… it was… it was empty.
I looked at dad in shock, but he reassured me with a smile.
“He'll be here darling. Don't be scared.”
The hall became quiet again. I waited endlessly, tapping my feet silently each passing second.
I try to stay calm, each creak made me jerk.
It's not a prank. It's just some delay. A surprise entrance.
She tries to stay calm. Surely, it’s a prank. A delay. A surprise entrance.
Time flew and minutes ran. The groomsman checked his phone and frowned. The officiator leans in on the stand. Dad squeezed my hand tightly. It was a battle with tears. I don't want to ruin my makeup, I know he's around somewhere, he's just being silly. I have to believe that.
I stand in the altar, my face covered in shame, my bouquet trembling in my hands, my eyes scanning round the area each passing second.
“Where are you, James?”
The music vanished. The lingering silence is deafening, piercing my heart. No vows. No James. Just me.
Standing alone right in front of everyone, waiting for a man whom promised forever, but ironically, he vanished before it could even begin.
Fuck!
Finally, I gave in to the tears and allowed them run down my cheek in shame.
“James! How dare you do this to me? Why!?”
