The Forest

554 Words
It has been about a month since I have been in the hospital and the doctors still can't figure out what is wrong with me. I feel a pull, I cannot quite explain it but I need to leave. I don't know where it is I am heading but it is far from here. My dreams haunt me, Austin is gone, and I feel myself slowly changing. Into what, I do not know. Thankfully, I am released from here today. "Delilah, the discharge papers are ready for you to sign." right on cue. "Thank you miss" she hands me the paperwork and I give them my John Handcock. First thing I should do is pack a bag and get going. I feel as if I should walk somewhere. Into the woods. I sense someone or something awaits me there. ... Okay. Home. let me see, I will need some shirts, jeans, socks, bra and underwear, brush, toiletries. Alright, I believe everything is packed and I am ready to go. I walk outside of the grey house I have lived in since my parents had passed. I head out past route 93 to the forest and walk for what seems like days but it merely only until about nightfall. I decide to set up camp near a stream and suddenly I hear something. I'm not alone. growling is all I hear now, growling and rustling among the trees. What could it be? Howls begin to fill the night and suddenly a pack of Wolves jump out of nowhere and I am surrounded, as if they can sense my fear one lunges at me but something pushes me out of the way. I see a big wolf with fur as silver as the full moon and a tail that seems to fade to the darkest of night. He is beautiful... I hear him growl once more as if warning them to dare come closer but they never do. I sit there on the ground for a while as they don't seem to move a muscle. eventually the pack turns around and leaves and I am left alone with this beautiful creature. He turns around to reveal these piercing emerald eyes. He snuggles his muzzle against me and beacons me to follow him deeper into the woods. I follow, wondering if he is leading me to the place I am being drawn to. ... This wolf and I walk for a while, confused by my surroundings... everything is starting to change... nothing looks the same anymore. The moon is slowly turning into a different color and this wolf that saved me is getting taller. Growing. But gods he is still beautiful.  As we wall on, we come upon a village surrounded by a neon green light. Almost like a snow glob. I see a bunch if different types of people, of many shapes, sizes and colors. Suddenly the wolf walks through it and shifts into this handsome man.. hes tall, tan and has this curly black hair that makes you wanna scruff it up. He turns around and looks at me with those  miraculous emerald eyes and holds out his hand. I cannot help but follow him through.  I feel so different now.. like something has changed inside of me.. what is this place and why am I so drawned to it... ""Welcome home, delilah."
