After they left Elder Madam Brown pulled Rita to the nearest sofa and made her sit next to her, she creased her hairs and said with affection, “My child, you are too innocent to understand this world. this world is cruel, they crush innocent and weak. You have to learn to be strong so no one can bully you.”.

Rita smiled bitterly, of course, she knows how cruel this world is. She has experienced its cruelty in form of a betrayer of best friend and lover.

When Elder Madam Brown saw her sad face and felt heartache, “Rita”.

“I know grandma what you are trying to tell me but I… sigh I am powerless I can’t fight back.”, Rita said with a sad face.

“Who said you are powerless. You are my granddaughter-in-law; you have the Brown family at your back. Look I don’t want you to bully others but if someone bullies you, you should retaliate.”, Elder Madam Brown said.

“I understand grandma”, Rita smiled.

“Good, where’s Jackson?”, she asked.

“I don’t know.”, Rita replied.

“hmm he didn’t tell you where he is going?”, Elder Madam Brown asked. Rita shook her head.

“And you didn’t ask as well?”, She questioned again. Rita shook her head again.

Elder Madam Brown sighed, “Dear you are going to be his wife. You should at least know where he went.”.

Rita lowered her head and didn’t reply.

Elder knew it won’t be a good idea to drag this topic, so she changed it, “Fine, leave him. Now tell me what you like to eat for dinner? Huh.”.

Rita looked at her with a smile and said, “Grandma, can I cook something for you?”.

From the time she met her, she is treating Rita with care and love, she didn’t know any other best way to answer her love than cooking something for her.

Elder Madam Brown was surprised to hear it, “You know how to cook?”. Rita nodded.

“If you want, I will love to try your culinary skills.”, Elder Madam Brown said.

“Great, I’ll go to the kitchen then.”, Rita said excitedly.

“Robert”, Elder Madam Brown called Robert.

“Yes, Elder Madam”, Robert came forward in a blink.

“Take Rita to kitchen and inform kitchen staff that Young mistress will be cooking today than have to help her.”, she ordered.

“Yes, Elder Madam. Young Mistress, please follow me.”, Robert said respectfully.

Rita giggled and stood up to follow Robert.

Elder Madam Brown looked at Rita’s leaving back and sighed, “I’m sorry my child, I failed to protect you. In past I wasn’t able to give you what you deserve but I promise once you married Jackson, I’ll give you everything that truly belongs to you.”.
