It's Time.

Olyvia POV It's been a month since my last beating, I've been sneaking and stashing essentials. Today is my last day here, Mia has successfully convinced me to leave and run 'Took you long enough.' she chastises me, 'I know and I'm sorry.' I apologize as I finish my chores for the day and retreat to my bedroom. Mom is going out tonight, but as usual I will be locked in here, but unknown to her I have been practicing my lock picking skills and can finally free myself. Luckily she hasn’t found my tool stash in one of her random room raids, as I like to call them. She comes in at a random point in the week and rips through all of my belongings, taking or destroying anything she believes I do not deserve. At this point, she believes I deserve nothing as she takes her anger of my father’s death out on me daily. I have been keeping mental tabs on the routine of her raids, in preparation for this day. As long as she has already raided the room, I have approximately three to five days before the next one. Thankfully she decided to do her raid yesterday while I was cleaning, therefore she didn’t search my person until after my shower allowing me to stash my lock picking set beforehand. 'Remember Olly, once she leaves you only have two hours to get as far away as you can, we will be safe I promise.' 'How can you promise when there is no way to know?' I question her 'Trust me.' she replies before shutting me out. I sigh in exasperation before taking my weekly cold shower, who knows when I will get my next since I am hoping to get across the country before anyone can find me. 'Olly wake up it's time.' Mia says waking me up, I get up slowly and adjust to the darkness before running to my bag and stuffing it with the remaining items I need. I sling it over my shoulder before walking to the door and putting my ear against it listening for any signs she is still home. 'She is gone, I heard her drive off.' Mia tells me before I begin picking the lock, it is a slow process but thankfully it only takes me a few minutes. Opening the door causes me to squint as my eyes adjust to the bright lights throughout the house, I slowly walk to the door listening for anything suspicious before opening it and dashing out and across the street into the park. 'This is the wrong way! Go back now!' Mia screams in my head, getting more and more anxious, 'No Mia, this is the closest way to the forest to be unseen. The next town isn't too far.' I reply, running through the park as quickly as I can before reaching the edge of the forest. 'GO BACK NOW!' Mia continues to scream 'GOD WHAT HAS GOTTEN INTO YOU CALM DOWN! YOU WANTED THIS NOW HUSH!' I reply before blocking her out. I climb over the park fence into the forest, thankfully now I can walk as no one goes into the forest, there's a rumor anyone who enters never returns but rumors are just that, rumors. The moon is high in the sky when I see a large rock and decide to rest. "I need to eat and sleep before continuing." I say aloud to myself as I search my bag for my granola bar. After eating half to conserve I begin my search for shelter of some sort, after searching around and finding little to nothing that can be quickly hidden I settle for a small cave. Crawling in I lay my bag to use as a pillow and lie down to sleep, quickly finding it. I yawn as I wake, slowly stretching my sore muscles from the cold cave floor. 'Mia? I'm sorry I didn't listen to you, we had a plan and we have to stick to it.' I try to reach her but receive silence in return. I slowly crawl out of the cave and stand, observing my surroundings before walking deeper into the forest. After walking for what seems like hours I finally find a stream, as I run towards it I hear a deathly growl and freeze. 'Don't move Olly.' Mia finally resurfaces 'What is it? What do I do?' I question in a panic as I see a large wolf stride towards me. "Uhhh nice wolfy, please don't eat me I will leave your stream alone just please don't eat me." I say softly as I slowly back away, unknowingly cornering myself. The wolf tilts its head as if it were human and darts behind a nearby tree before a huge, naked man returns, "OH MY GOD!" I scream as I cover my eyes, "WHY ARE YOU NAKED?WHAT HAPPENED TO THE WOLF?" "Relax", the unknown man says, "My name is George and I am a warrior of the Moonfang pack." "A what of the what?" I question. "What is your name? You smell of human but not entirely, why are you in our territory?" he questions in reply. "Olyvia, and I'm not fully sure what I am or where I am. I'm running from my abusive mother." I reply, "Now it's your turn, what do you mean a warrior of the Moonfang pack? What is a pack, and what is a territory?" "Hold on, what do you mean you are not sure what you are?" he replies "I always thought I was human but when my father was murdered I began hearing this voice who calls herself Mia. She says I am a werewolf but I know nothing of any of this." "Oh moon goddess, you must come with me." He says rubbing his forehead before pulling me to follow him. “You are bold for someone who has yet to see a werewolf and has no knowledge of them.” He says softly in hopes I wouldn’t hear, I choose to ignore him as I struggle to keep with his pace.
