Jax POV
I can’t help but smile at the doctor's words, Dawson has been aching to run with our mate and speak with them freely. I look to my mate as I hear the door open, hearing Dawson whimper at the thought of not having her next to me tonight. “So, as I was telling your mate. One scan in the morning and I believe you will be cleared to be discharged, but on one condition.-” the doctor begins before my interruption, “You didn’t say-” I begin before the doctor raises her hand, causing me to look down in respect, knowing I crossed a line. “This is my house, you’ve been here well enough to know my expectations on how to act here.” she scolds before continuing, “Olyvia, you will most likely be discharged tomorrow morning, on the condition that you will attend a meeting with the King and I, as well as see my sister.” she says, looking to Olyvia. “I can agree to those conditions, but I need to know, who is your sister?” She responds eloquently, causing Dawson and I to beam with pride. “My sister is a psychiatrist, I would like for you to meet with her a few times. If she finds that you are healing emotionally as well as you have physically, then she will release you from that condition.” the doctor says, looking at Olyvia with concern. “I can agree to that. Thank you very much.” Olyvia tells the doctor before lying down, signaling she is ready for the doctor to leave. ‘She is tired, I can feel it in her power.’ Dawson tells me, bringing my attention back to my surroundings. The doctor looks at Olyvia with curiosity before leaving, obviously affected by the power my mate is emitting. “Are you okay my princess? Would you like me to get you anything before I go?” I ask as I softly hold her hand. “I’m okay, just really tired. I don’t need anything, though it would be nice to sleep alongside you.” she says, her eyes pleading with my soul. I carefully climb onto the hospital bed with her, holding her softly as she quickly falls into a deep sleep bringing beautiful, quiet snores from her mouth.
Olyvia POV
Sleep came to me quickly, causing me to wake up with the sun feeling refreshed. “Good you are awake early, it seems your mate didn’t agree with sleeping without you.” the doctor chuckles softly, as Jax is still asleep. ‘Thankfully he stayed fully clothed. Otherwise we would not be going anywhere.’ Mia tells me with a smirk. “Actually ma’am, it was me. I asked him to stay with me.” I tell the doctor softly, yet firmly. She nods before motioning me to get dressed into the hospital gown she seems to have laid out before I woke. I quickly go to the bathroom and change, walking out to see the doctor standing behind a wheelchair. “I can walk.” I state the obvious, “I know, but those gowns have a tendency of showing some skin and I am sure that will cause a riot from your mate if he hears of it. Plus the head doctor who took my place prefers patients to be wheeled to any testing.” she tells me, her tone at the mention of the head doctor changing from kind to one of annoyance. I nod before sitting, tucking my feet up and adjusting my gown so that it is covering everything. After laying in the MRI for what felt like forever, the doctor finally turns it off. She chuckles at my sigh of relief, “It reminds me of a corndog when I use this machine.” I look at her for a second before laughing, causing her chuckle to turn into full-on laughter. Still laughing at her strange reference, I return to the chair where we make our short trip back to my room. “That is something I will never forget. Jax respects you a lot, it almost seems as if he is afraid of you.” I tell Belinda. “I’ve taken care of his wounds his entire life, that boy was here at least four times a week between his shenanigans and training injuries. He is like a grandson to me, I love him as if he was my own.” she tells me with a smile as we enter my room. “Go ahead and get changed, I already requested the queen send a maid to bring some clothes fit for a picnic for you.” “Thank you.” I respond before she leaves, earning a smile with a wink. Quickly showering and changing as I can hear what sounds like Jax beginning to wake up.
Jax POV
My hand softly tapping the bed as I reach for my mate, not wanting to get up just yet. Noticing she is no longer in bed my eyes open with a pop as I jump up, looking around while suppressing a growl. I hear a lock click, whipping my head to see my mate leaving the bathroom dressed in a light sundress. It has become summer here in Canada, which is generally colder than the season in other countries. Being a werewolf has its advantages in this though, as we are warmer and the cold doesn’t bother us much if at all. My initial agitation quickly turns to lust as Dawson lets out a soft, audible growl. I can see her eyes beginning to flash colors before returning to normal, “I woke at dawn, so the doctor went ahead and did the scan. We are just waiting for her to return.” she tells me as she approaches, touching my arm softly as she smiles. I wrap my arms around her as I kiss her head, silently praying that Olyvia will be cleared to shift. ‘Remember she has been through a lot, please don't push her too far. I want her to accept us and feel safe. I know you disagree with how we have not marked her yet but please allow me this time with her first.’ I tell Dawson, knowing he is anxious to mark Olyvia so that we will always be able to find her. ‘I understand. No promises if she asks though.’ he responds jokingly. After a soft knock, Belinda enters with a strange look on her face. I feel Olyvia pull away slightly in respect for Belinda. “You are a strange and powerful one indeed Olyvia.” she says, her tone laced with confusion and amazement. “All of your physical wounds are not only healed, but appear to have been completely restored. Normally, even with our healing abilities, there are still signs of the previous wounds. You don't fall in line with this, you show no signs of ever having any physical wounds.” she says before looking at me, “The next full moon is soon, postpone any marking or mating until then. I can’t explain, just follow my instructions. You are discharged, but we must meet with the King now.” Olyvia fidgets before following Belinda out as she instructed me to gather and move my mates belongings.
