Olyvia POV

“What do you mean?” I question, ‘He is our mate, he must accept us soon.’ I hear Mia before she returns to the back of my mind to observe. “So you really know nothing of werewolves? The Moon Goddess grants us with soulmates, we normally shift at the age of eighteen with the exception of Alphas. After the first shift we can identify our mate through their smell, touch, and eye contact. You smell of cinnamon and rain,” he says before bringing his head to my neck and inhaling deeply. “ then, once accepted, the pair will mate both physically and spiritually. Normally for Alphas, they will perform a mating ceremony in order to mark their mate unless the mate has an objection to being bitten in front of the pack. After the ceremony they mate physically.” he says, keeping his face buried in the crook of my neck. I begin to feel dizzy as the exhaustion takes over, as darkness overcomes me I hear Jax say softly “I was waiting on that, she is exhausted after this.” 

Jax POV

I expected her to faint sooner than she did. ‘Mate is strong, accept her quickly.’ Dawson says in my mind, to which I agree. Using my wolf speed I carry her to my bedroom before laying her down, softly covering her before stepping out. ‘Come to my office.’ my dad links to me. Approaching his office I hear my mother “What do you mean? They have been extinct for years. There must be something we are missing here.” Knocking before I enter, causing both my parents to look at me, “Jax, how did her shift go?” he asks “Longer than expected, about two hours for her to fully shift. Dad, she is full silver including her eyes. I’ve never seen a wolf whose eyes are entirely one color with no whites.” I say, “Beautifully strange.” I whisper to no one in particular. “She is a silver wolf, they were thought to be extinct, but must have instead gone into hiding. We need to learn more about her which is almost impossible as we have no idea of her family or heritage. How is she now? I did not expect to see you until morning.” “She is resting, Olyvia is drained from the shift, which could be why Mia surfaced previous to the shift. I would like to return to her soon if possible.” I respond, knowing that he will keep this meeting quick to allow me time with my newly found mate. “We will hold the mating ceremony tomorrow, please have her come to me so I can help her get ready.” my mom tells me before shooing me out of the office, “Go to her, she will be awake soon.” she says softly before shutting the door. I rush back towards my room, opening the door to see Olyvia slowly sitting up and smiling at me.

Olyvia POV

As I open my eyes I can tell that I am not in my previous room, I look around and see the red and gold decor. I can hear rushed footsteps before the door opens, allowing me to take in my handsome mate’s appearance. I can’t help but fall into the abyss that is his eyes as we stare at each other for what seems to be hours before he comes to me. Holding my head in between his hands, he looks down at me “I’m sorry, I know I said the marking can be done in private but I wasn’t able to tell you that the decision is not yours in this case. I am a royal, and being as such the ceremony must go a certain way. My mom has arranged for the ceremony to be held tomorrow night. I’m sorry-” I press my lips to his, effectively cutting his rambling short as I can feel his anxiety in the air “It’s okay. I may not be accustomed to the traditions here but Mia is completely bewitched by you. I’m not quite sure what marking is though, I feel I should know a bit before getting blindsided?” I say quickly in an attempt to hide the fact that I just gave my first kiss away. Jax kneels down in front of me so that I can relax my neck, he kisses my forehead softly sending sparks across my face. “Do you trust me?” he asks “Yes.” I say before I can even comprehend what may happen. I jump slightly as he begins kissing down the side of my face to my neck before kissing the soft spot between my neck and shoulder, sending hot sparks to my core while igniting a feeling I’ve never felt. Gasping, I pull away slightly causing Jax to look at me in amusement, “When it is time to mark you, my canines will extend and I will bite you there, as you will do the same. It bonds our minds and emotions, everything you feel physically and emotionally I will also feel. We will also be able to speak to each other through the mind-link as well as you will be the future Queen to this pack.” he says, his eyes darkening at the scent of my arousal. “Lay down and rest princess, we have a long day tomorrow and my wolf is anxious to meet you.” he says before laying down, motioning me to lay with him. “What happens after?” I ask as I lay facing him “If you are comfortable, we will mate. Otherwise we can wait until you are comfortable.” he says softly before pulling me to him, “Sleep.” “Yes Sir.” I whisper quietly, unintentionally bringing a slight groan of pleasure from him.

Jax POV

Stretching as the sun rises, I replay her words from last night, “Yes Sir.” If she only knew what those two simple words did to me. It took a long time to fall asleep after that. Slipping slowly out of bed to not wake Olyvia, I take a cold shower and prepare for my training. ‘Amanda, Nicci, I have been told you tended to Olyvia last?’ I link the two maids that assisted in getting Mia ready for the last ceremony. ‘Yes Alpha Prince.’ they link back, ‘Will you come prepare my mate to meet with the Queen?’ ‘Yes Alpha Prince.’ they respond curtly. I kiss Olyvia softly on the head before making my way to the training grounds.
