Chapter 32: The red haired swordsman

“Let’s continue our battle and test each other's strength into our limits.”
My self-proclaimed rival runs in my direction. She then swings her red sword horizontally and followed by her blue sword vertically.
I avoided her attack and then put myself in a long distance.
Having direct contact with her sword is very dangerous. I should be careful and put my distance from her.
I put my sword back in my sheath. I put my hand in front of me and cast my magic.
“Water magic: Water ball!”
Followed by words, a blue magic circle appeared and from its center, a ball was formed from water. The water arrow was then fired toward Akane.
Akane deflected the water arrow using her blue sword.
Looks like attacking with only one water ball is not enough.
“Water magic: Water balls.”
I cast the same magic, but this time I made multiple magic circles and shot Akane with them like a machine gun.
“Attacking me with multiple magic. Expected from my rival, but that won’t work on me.”
Akane spins her sword and defends herself from the water attack.
After that, Akane uses her red sword and struck her sword to the ground.
“Earthshaker!”
The heavy impact from her red sword was able to shake the ground making a magnitude. That cause me to lost my balance and fell to the ground.
She then pointed her blue sword to me.
“What?”
My body is suddenly lifting from the ground and pulled toward her direction.
“Sword skill: Heavy sword s***h!”
Her sword heavy hit me directly. Resulting in my HP going down into its half.
That sword sure was manifesting heavy power.
“Is that all you can do my rival?”
Akane did the same trick and pull me with her blue sword.
This pulling force again. I better do something.
I quickly hold to the tree trunk. I hug the trunk tightly.
“Holding into a tree is fine, but it will make your back defenseless.”
She then flies toward me.
“You can fly?”
“Sword skill: Heavy sword s***h!”
“Wind magic: Towering tornado!”
A green-colored magic circle opened beneath me and before Akane reach my attacking distance. The tornado emerges and making Akane flew up into the sky.
Time to give back that heavy attack… Plunderer!
I use plunderer and steal her sword skill.
Then use wind magic to make myself fly in the sky, Then drew my sword and use her sword skill.
My sword directly hit her but the skill didn’t activate.
The skill is not activating. What’s the meaning of this?
Akane rise her red sword and slashes.
“Ice barrier!”
I form multiple layers of ice shield to minimize the attack power of her sword attack. My ice barrier was easily destroyed. I immediately fly in another direction to avoid her attack.
“Heal.”
I need to be cautious, just one hit from her sword makes my HP in half. That means two hits from her is my death.
Weirdly, my unique skill plunderer should be able to steal her sword skill.
Remembering, earlier she did tell me that we’re like opposites.
I’m a magic user and she’s a swordsman. Does that mean she can’t use magic? Then, how is she flying?
Her sword really is really making me curious, but I can’t use status check on her. She can block status check, I can’t see her stats.
Honestly, I use water magic on her because I don’t like hitting a cute girl like her. But the situation change. I won’t hold back anymore.
“A wizard always needs Magical power to fight, but us swordsman only our strength is enough. You use too much magic earlier, your MP is running low right now. As my rival, I will promise you that I will win this battle royal event.”
“Sorry but I really hate losing, just the idea of it makes me really angry.”
“That’s the spirit, expected from my rival.”
“Lightning magic: Lightning strike!”
I cast one of my most powerful magic in an attempt ha I can defeat her, but she quickly reacted and change her direction.
Her flying is increasing and she’s getting near me.
“Lightning shock!”
I then clap my hand to release the lightning shock that can paralyze my opponents.
Akane immediately flies up in the sky making her distance away from me.
She’s really smart, she can react quickly and I have no chance of winning when I’m fighting her in close combat.
Thinking about I swordsman like Akane can only fight with close combat range. As long her sword didn’t reach me I think I’m in a safe zone.
I then cast multiple fireball and water ball magic.
“Doing the same thing over and over again… I expect more than this my rival…”
Akane said as she flawlessly dodges my magic attack.
“... I guess, I’m going in a hard way.”
Akane then focuses her strength on her right arm and then throws her red sword in my direction.
“Heavy sword meteor!”
“She throws her sword?!”
I never expect her to make that move and quickly jump away.
The power of the sword is unreal and it destroys the ground and makes a small crater on it.
The huge impact it made also made some damage to me.
Using heal is limited, I can’t heal myself forever, besides my magic attack all required MP. If I lost my MP I’m already done.
Akane quickly flies toward me and slashes me using her sword.
“Gravity s***h!”
My HP was reduced rapidly.
“Heal.”
Akane then grabbed her red sword.
“Heavy s***h!’
She attacks me from my back and my Hp reaches its critical rate.
This swordsman is too strong.
[Critical Hp rate reached... Player out!]
[Game over.]
My body then turned into a small ball of light and was transported back to Axel central park.
I open my eyes and see myself in the park. The adventurer is all currently watching on a big monitor screen as observers.
I became overconfident again.
This is proof that I need to work harder next time.
I started to feel sad and whip some tears flowing in my eyes.
Some adventurers then came to pat my back.
“Don’t cry… You a powerful wizard.”
“You’re amazing!”
“You defeat 500 players on your own.”
“You’re so amazing.”
“You’re like a wizard sage.”
“Some adventurers are just too powerful, like them.”
“That red-haired girl sure is very powerful and cute.”
The adventurers cheer me up.
Their word reached my heart.
“Thank you so much.”
I said and bow my head to them.
I then turn my glance to the big monitor in the sky and became watch the remaining adventurers in the battle royal.
In my heart, there is a feeling of loss, because I’m not able to get the grand prize of 500,000 gold.
But it’s fine, this battle makes me realize that this world has many powerful beings in it.
I can’t lose to them, I will become powerful and destroy those things in my way.
