Chapter 44: The flower of memories

The next day.
Carla and I proceed in visiting the eternal flower garden to get the rare item called the flower of memories. It’s the item needed to revive Carla’s friend.
Because of that Carla is really high-spirited and looks very energetic.
We get to the main entrance of the place and saw many people. I think these people are mostly a couple. They are holding hands, having fun together, and kissing.
Seeing these sort of things Carla’s face was blushing.
“They are kissing outside!”
Carla is so innocent she doesn’t know this kind of thing happened.
I also feel embarrassed if somebody kissed me in a public place like this. Some couples are like this and it’s normal. Maybe, I’m thinking it’s bad because I never did it to anyone before.
I feel very unpopular. Honestly, it’s the opposite, I’m so popular when I’m still in the real world. I just don’t have in normal things like romance.
Looking at the map. The “Flower of memories” will bloom in the northern area of the garden. That area also has a high-level plant monster. I’m an expert in fire magic so I think nothing will stop both of us.
While walking toward that place, we fought lots of plant monsters.
“Fireball!”
I put the plant monster that’s about to attack us in flames. As expected it’s super effective to them.
“Amazing… Your fire magic is really strong.”
“I do have an ability to make my fire magic stronger.”
“I see, abilities and skill together make a great combination.”
After some time of walking, we then reached the northern part and saw an altar.
I pointed it with my index finger and said:
“Looks like that is the place where the flower blooms.”
Carla then walked toward there and hesitant for a bit, thinking if there is some kind of trap around her. But after successfully walking close to the altar.
The jewel that contains her familiar heart and soul started to glow up.
The altar absorbs the light and then in few moments, the flower started to bloom.
Carla’s expression glimmers and her smile was beaming.
“Look Mayu! I get it the flower of memories we can now revive my friend.”
Carla was confused about how to use it. I then explain it to her she understand it quickly.
“Then, we still need to do it in the nighttime. I’m so excited to revive my friend Jewel.”
“I’m happy for you.”
We’re about to go home and on our way to exit. But some group of people then came to block our way. I don’t who are they and what they need but it’s an obvious ambush.
After that, a girl steps forward. She seems to be the leader of this group.
“What do you want?”
I asked.
“You should know that by now, we want the rare item. That flower of memories only blooms to a beats tamer with the purest love to its familiar. It also blooms once every six months. Making it quite rare and expensive.”
“I see, then it’s one of your men eavesdropped us last night.”
“That doesn’t really matter, but you should consider your safety. We’re all level 40 and serve the demon lord commander Drag… Give the rare item or else we will kill both of you”
Her people then drew their weapons and pointed them at us.
“No, Mayu they are all level 40. A level 15 like will never stand a chance to them.”
Carla is shaking and looking at the flower in her hand. She is thinking of giving the flower in exchange for our survival.
But I can’t really trust these people’s words.
First of all, she said is one of the demon lord commander minion. I can’t take her words seriously. If we hand over the item, she might come to attack us and get our items.
“Why so silent? Hand over that flower and we will spare your life.”
She said in a smug face of hers.
I used status check o them and check every ability and skill they have.
I smiled and put Carla at ease.
“Don’t worry, I’m super strong. Leave this thing to me… Barrier.”
I put a barrier to Carla just in case someone played dirty and attack her from behind.
I then walked closer to them with a smile on my face.
“Why are you smiling?”
“Look master that girl is a white-haired elf. Don’t tell me she is the famous elf that constantly taking down S-ranked quest in every guild.”
“The Ashen Wizard sage!”
Her group started to get scared in my presence.
Well, I did remember someone calling that name to me back then. There was a time I slay an earth dragon and some people started calling me an “Ashen wizard sage.”
Seems like I really became popular.
“The Ashen wizard sage? There is no way she’s in this place. A powerful adventurer like that is supposed to be in front lines.”
The group then attack me with their magic and weapon.
But all their weapon and magic was blocked before it even reached me.
“What’s happening? My sword is not going through. It’s like something is on the way.”
“It’s wind barrier, I can create a barrier out of wind magic to protect myself from upcoming attacks. Weak magic and weapon like those will never gonna reach me.”
I said.
Then, a man uses a bow with flame magic to shot Carla, but it was blocked because of the barrier.
“My flaming arrow didn’t work?”
“I already put my barrier on her, I already know that you’ll be going to play dirty… Wind magic: Wind force.”
Heavy wind blow the adventurer away from me and flew through the ground.
I got really good at controlling my magic now. Wizard sage title did boost my magical power after all. If I don’t have control over my magic it’s possible to kill these people with my magic.
The woman that supposes to be the leader of the group is raging in anger and then focuses her magical power on her spear weapon.
“This spear is granted by demon lord commander drag to me. I will pierce you with this.”
Her pear then glows up in dark red color and a sinister aura enveloped her.
She is not really fooling me when she said she is one of his minions.
Demon king commander Drag. I remember him because he is the one that kidnapped the people in Forestia. If I battle him and defeated him I might gain lots of experience points o level up.
I will level up and become powerful like the demon king.
“Wind magic solidified: Wind spear of Sylph!”
I then created a spear from my wind magic and blasted it toward the woman. Upon hitting her, her spear was shattered into pieces and she was blown away to the ground.
“She can use advanced techniques like that. Everyone stand up and kill those two!”
She said and stood up.
The moment she stood up I then accelerated my body and created a sword from the wind. And then pointed it to her neck.
“You’re going with me… I have lots of questions to ask you. After that, you will be imprisoned and pay for your sins.”
“W-Why would I do that?”
His voice became rough and shaky.
“One wrong move and I’m going to kill you.”
Hearing my reply, she swallowed her saliva and then lose hope. She kneels on the ground. Use earth magic to restrain them before teleporting them to the prison.
I then questioned them about the demon king commander drag and where he was. With fear they all told me everything, I wanted to hear about him.
I was satisfied with their answer and then teleport them to the prison.
After the happening in our journey to get the flower of memories. We came to the same restaurant toe at so dinner.
“You so powerful Mayu.”
“I did work hard a lot, my hard work pays off.”
“Then why did you asked them about the demon king commander drag?”
“I will go and fight him If I defeat all the commander. I might become powerful like the demon king. I will defeat the demon king.”
“That’s dangerous, it’s a job for the heroes.”
“But mostly of hose heroes are inexperienced warriors. People can’t just rely on them. People must have obtained the power to protect themselves. No matter what you are.”
“You’re right, people should not rely on them. I just notice it you’re ear is pointy. I think you really are that Ashen wizard sage… Looks like I owe you three times now.”
“Three times? But I only help you two times. The first time we meet and earlier.”
“No you save me before… Don’t you remember? I’m from Elesis fort. I’m one of those people you save from those nights of the monster attack. That why I became an adventurer. I wanted to protect people too, but I just lost my track and got full of myself.”
Carla said.
The night of the monster attack. That is the night Meily died and the night I fight Eriko the demon king commander.
I will defeat them.
After that, I go to Carla’s room, and then we started the reviving ritual to revive her friend's cat.
Carla put the jewel heart on the table and put the flower on top of it.
The item glow in radiating green and blue colors. The light started to shape into a beast.
That beast became her friend cat.
The cat then jumps toward Carla.
“Meow… Meow…”
Carla was overflowing with happiness and hugged her friend tightly.
“I miss you so much, Jewel… I promise to take care of you. I will become stronger.”
Looking at their hearth warming reunion makes me happy.
But still, this is just the start. My next destination is the hideout of the demon king commander Drag. I already pull all my courage and decided to fight him.
The night was clear and the stars are shining brightly in the sky.
