Chapter 27: Train of dreams (Part 2)

“Sorry everyone but I need this so that I can have a good night's sleep.”
Said the girl holding a lamp with essence. The essence the magic-making all the passengers fell asleep.
A white demon appeared and hold the girl's hands.
“I have my words, I will give your wish in meeting the man you love the most.”
The tears from the girl's eye’s started flowing. As she remembers the one she loved the most.
“Thank you…”
The demon is a dream eater demon that has the ability to give or eat people’s dreams.
The demon put her hand to the girl's head and cast magic. Giving her a wonderful dream she’s always dreaming about.
After falling suddenly asleep.
The girl opened her eye’s in her dream world and met the man she loves the most waiting for her. They hugged each other and slowly look at each other's eye’s
“I miss you, Riku.”
“I miss you, Minami.
Then they kiss.
The girl smiled and her real-world body became defenseless.
“Don’t worry, Minami… You and the man you love the most will meet after I enjoy eating your dreams.”
The dream eater demon then cast and night barrier.
“Emerge from the darkness, blacker than darkness. Purify that which is impure."
The sunlight was taken away and the whole train was in the nighttime.
Night barrier is a spell that separates an area from the rest of space. Night barriers are mostly used by magic-user to hide their activities from the world by rendering the inside of the area invisible to the outside.
With this barrier, the reality and the world inside the train separated.
The demon did this because she will take eating the precious dreams of each passenger.
The demon started looking in each passenger's face and look at who’s the first one she will eat.
Upon looking around in several minutes.
She saw Mayu currently sleeping with a smile.
“A sweet smile… I wonder how sweet you’re dream will be?”
For the demon to activate her ability she needs to put her hand to the dreamer's head and go inside her dream. After going inside her dream. The dream eater must found the core soul of the dreamer. That core soul is the dream itself and the life of the dreamer. When this core soul was destroyed the dreamer will also die in real life.
The demon put her hand gently to Mayu’s head and dive inside Mayu’s dream world.
The demon then was stunned.
“What is this place? There are many buildings and I can’t feel any magic. This world is far different from our world.”
The demon then looks around the dream world and search for the soul core.
But before she started, the ability was hen cut-out.
Someone in the real world released her hand from Mayu.
Mayu is currently holding the hand of the demon.
“How is this possible? You’re supposed to be asleep and defenseless.”
Mayu’s body just moves by instinct, her body suddenly detected a bloodlust coming toward her and her body suddenly reacted.
Mayu while in the crystal dungeon sharpens her sense of detecting danger, because of the unpredictable monster suddenly attacking her.
Mayu already practices detecting danger while she was asleep.
Holding the demon’s hand strongly. The weak demon can’t do anything.
Demons like dream eater are not really good at fighting and almost all of them have zero fighting experience.
Their trick is always the same. They wait for the human target to sleep and use their ability. Find the soul core and eat it.
“Retto don’t leave me…”
“Retto?”
“Don’t leave me…”
Mayu muttered.

Inside Mayu’s dream.
Mayu is currently having a date with Retto at an amusement park. They already get on too many rides and got tired.
Currently, they decided to sit down in the bench chair and eat ice cream.
Mayu is currently looking at their pictures and posing them on social media.
“Is that picture great?”
Retto asked.
“It’s great, I like your dead eyes, I’m just joking. I like everything about you. Seeing this picture really made me happy. I want more pictures like this and look at them the moment you leave me. Are you really sure about going away? I’m going to be lonely.”
“It’s for our future. I will do that so that I can support you in the future. I want to treat you like a queen. I want to spoil you and give what you desire.”
“Mother is always working and never comes home. I’m going to lonely again.”
“Meily is there.”
“Having you around is different. A couple these days are so clingy to each other and doing exciting things. Seeing them makes me feel jealous a bit. I was wondering, Why you’re not making a move on me yet?”
Mayu said in a serious tone.
Retto looks at the ride in the amusement park and the smile of the kids playing around.
“We’re always dating. Am I boring?”
Mayu nodded and turn her eyes to Retto.
“I want to feel, the heat in our relationship… Retto let’s make a baby.”
Retto was surprised after hearing Mayu said those words.
“I respected you, making babies is not something you did for pleasure. It’s something you should do with your partner at the moment you're both decided and committed to having a baby. Baby is a lifelong responsiblity. It’s not something you should make out of curiosity… Making babies have pleasure is just an animal act.”
Replied Retto with disappointed eyes.
“Are you angry?”
“I’m not, let’s just ride the bicycle.”
Retto stood up and get his bicycle. Retto rides the bicycle and behind him is Mayu.
They then started moving under the beautiful sunset and orange-dyed clouds.
Mayu just look closely toward Retto and hugged him from behind.
“I want this road to go on forever and ever. I want to stop the time and stay like this forever. I want to feel this breeze and see this wonderful view with you forever.”
Mayu muttered.
“In April, these cherry blossom trees will bloom lots of flowers. I will come here. I will visit and together let us look at these flowers.”
“Promise me.”
“It’s a promise.”
Mayu hugged Retto tightly.
“I won’t look for someone else. I’ll be waiting for you. Same with me don’t look on other girls.”
Their last date ended on that day.
Mayu and Retto made a farewell and promise to meet each other next spring.
Returning home, Mayu goes straight t her bed to rest. She then passed by a mirror.
She looks at it and saw her reflection with a desperate expression.
Her reflection is knocking on the mirror and trying to say something.
“Mayu! Our body is in danger! Mayu!”
“Our body? In danger? An illusion?”
Headache suddenly strikes Mayu and she fell to her bed.
The intense pain makes her remember her current self.
“That’s right! I’m on my way to Grandellia city. I’m riding a train and fell asleep.”
Mayu started to have an angry expression on her face.
Now, How am I able to escape this dream?
Still, I’m very angry. This dream is very long and I fell in love deeply with Retto.
I don’t even know if this is good or bad.
Mayu then remembers something before. She remembers a movie where the hero killed himself inside the dream to escape the dream.
This dream world is very real and a small cut on her finger already hurts.
“I need to escape this world.”
Mayu runs toward the kitchen and gets a kitchen knife.
She then stared at its sharp blade and swallowed her throat. Her hands are unstable and she’s starting to have cold sweat.
“I need to do this… To go back to my current reality.”
Pulling all her courage, Mayu cut her own neck.
Mayu then woke up in the real-world and with her hand holding the dream eater demon.
“You wake up!”
The demon said.
“A demon?”
Mayu then noticed the everyone inside the train is sleeping.
I don’t really know the happening but this demon is definitely up to something no good.
Mayu pulled the demon and punch the dream eater demon.
“The plan is now destroyed because an adventurer woke up, not only that this adventurer got high-level skill and abilities.”
Another demon showed up.
“What are you doing Modi?”
“I’m busy eating… I didn’t notice that you're in trouble…”
The hand of the demon named Modi became dragon-like claws.
“... Little girl prepare to be sliced in five.”
Mayu then draws her sword and pointed it at Modi.
“Come and try it.”
Mayu replied.
The heat of the battlefield is rising.
