Chapter 29: Duel in the guild

After arriving in the town of Axel.
I found myself facing trouble. I’m troubled not because I happened to catch up into some kind of disaster or a monster show up again.
I’m troubled because the train that should bring me to Grandellia city is said to be under maintenance and I’m not able to ride the train until it was fixed.
I’m looking forward to visiting the capital city.
I got tired of walking in the streets and sat down in the beach chair in front of the huge beautiful fountain.
“What should I do now?”
I said and make a sigh.
Suddenly an announcement was heard and a giant monitor screen suddenly appeared in the sky.
“What is this?”
“Great news to the great adventurers currently in town Axel. The mayor of the town is going to held an event for everyone. An event that will challenge and test the abilities of our adventurers. A battle royal tournament for everyone. Any adventurer on any leave can join and the winner will be rewarded with 500,000 gold and rare equipment. Also, the winner will be chosen to join the heroes expedition in the World tree Island.”
The announcer said.
A battle royal event. Any adventurers can join and there is a reward of 500,000.
With that money, I might be able to live as a NEET for half a year. No, I can live with that money for a very long time if I chose a town with a low expenses rate.
The announcer also said about the hero's expedition. Does that mean there Hero in this world?
I’m so dumb for not realizing it. There are demon commanders in this world like Eriko, which means there are also people called heroes.
Those heroes might be like me, someone from another world.
I’m reading too many light novels when I’m in Japan. But still, I wanted to believe that I’m not the only Japanese in this world. Kuroe Hashimoto is a Japanese name, but despite having that name Kuroe is born here and living in this world. She didn’t even know the origin of her name.
That means someone from our world already came into this world.
Thinking about these things will make my head burn. Forget it, I guess, I’m joining this event.

“The event will start tomorrow at 8:00 AM. To those who are interested visit the Axel adventurers guild and sign up for registration.”
I stood up from my seat and walked directly to the adventurers guild. In every town, only one adventurer's guild exists and it’s always located near the center part of the city or town.
I arrived at the adventurers guild and saw the long line of adventurers who wanted to register for tomorrow's event.
“These many adventures want to join. I can’t really blame them a huge money is on the line here.”
I said a fall in line.
According to the train station, the train maintenance will last for about a day. I decided to stay here for good and just join this event to enjoy myself.
The event is a battle royal, does that means I’m going to battle everyone in this line.
Looking at their appearance and equipment. I can say that most of them look very powerful although this town is a town for novice adventurers.
There are mages and some scary-looking people with weird triangle cult robes.
After two hours, I’m able to reach the lady receptionist.
The pretty lady receptionist, get a piece of paper and a pen.
“Adventurers these days sure is starting in a very young age. Are you sure to join the event?”
She asked.
“ Of course.”
“It’s dangerous for young girls to be in this event.”
“Want to join please hand over the paper. I’m pretty confident in my ability as an adventurer.”
I replied.
The lady receptionist didn’t fight me back any farther after seeing my serious-looking face.
“If you insist… Then, please write your name and your level here. I will process the papers.”
I get the paper and pen and write my name and level. I write my complete name Hiyami Hayu and my current level.
I then pass down the register paper to the lady receptionist.
“Here…”
“Thank you so much… Eh… Is this real? You’re currently level 50. Your just a kid and you’re level 50. Even a fresh adventurer school graduate will never reach this level in two years.”
The voice of the lady receptionist was heard throughout the whole guild and it caught people's attention.
Their all scarily looking at me.
A giant-looking man then came walking toward me and stare at me with his scary eyes.
“Did you’re mother never thought you about being honest and not tell any lies?”
I don’t like being looked down upon. I cleared my throat and look him in his eyes.

This scary-looking man in front of me will not stand a chance in me. This is a basic rule of role-playing games. The one with the highest level will likely win the match.
In a role-playing game like this world, everything is about numbers.
That’s why I was defeated by Eriko at that time because she is obviously more powerful than me.
“Little girl are you listening! This is not a game, go home a suck your mother's milk instead.”
He said.
That makes me angry and I throw my gloves at his scary-looking face.
“I challenge you to a duel.”
“A duel! Me with a little girl? Are you insane? I can just kill you using my thumb.”
“Are you scared of losing to a little girl? Coward.”
I torment him and succeeded after seeing his ugly-looking pissed-off expression.
It seems like his head will explode any time soon.
“You go the guts I guess I have no choice but to accept the duel, but don’t cry when you lose.”
“I won’t cry.”
I replied.
We then move to the vacant lot behind the guild. This vacant lot is also used as a battlefield on some occasions.
Sinek and I then stand on the opposite side with serious expressions on our faces.
Many people came to see the fight and some adventurers started betting on who’s the adventurer going to win the duel.
A referee then stood in the middle of the battlefield.
We get ourselves ready and with the swing of the flag, the duels started.
“I’ll go first… Enhancement magic: Titanic muscles and Support magic: Booster strength.”
His body gets s bigger and bigger I can’t tell if he's really a human.
“That little girl is in danger!”
“Sinek is really into it.”
The crowd started worrying about my safety.
Sinek then attacks me using his giant fist.
“Gigaton titan punch!”
No need to draw my sword this time. All I need to do is to use my fist.
I cover my fist with magic.
Because of my small body, I’m able to come forward to him and deliver a powerful uppercut.
“Magical punch!”
My fist directly hits his big face.
Sinek receive the uppercut and flew out of the battlefield with white out.
All of the adventures were then stunned after seeing my display of strength.
“She did it?”
“She really did it right?”
“She just punches him…”
They all can believe it.
After few seconds, they then started cheering.
“Hooray! That shitty bastard was defeated!”
That’s why don’t judge the book by its cover. Despite my look, I’m a powerful adventurer.
I’m going o be more powerful until I met with Eriko again.
I go back inside the guild and the lady receptionist gives me an ID card.
“Here you go, I’m really sorry that I suspected that you’re lying earlier. I shouldn't judge you based on you’re appearance.”
“It’s okay, it’s always happening. Then what is this card about?”
“That ID card will be your ticket for the event. Tomorrow doesn’t forget to arrive before 8:00 AM in the central park. All participants must be present, being late will never be tolerated.”
“Thank you.”
I wave my hand to the lady receptionist. She then smiled at me and wave back before I completely leave the adventurers guild.
That fight earlier is quite one-sided.
This battle is one of the many proofs that this world really works like a role-playing game. Just thinking about it, I started to think that reincarnated in that dangerous dungeon might be good for me.
Since the crystal dungeon has lots of powerful high-leveled monsters, I level up easily and gain abilities and skills.
After leaving, I search for an Inn near to the central park, so that I’m not gonna be late. I’m lucky to find one and decided to stay for the night.
“It’s been a long day. Many things happened.”
I said and dive to the soft bed in front of me.
And then pressed my face to the feather pillow and hugged it.
Maintaining my transformation is really hard. I should practice using this magic. I look to the mirror and deactivate my transformation magic.
My pointy ears return and my small height.
“I look like a middle school girl.”
I made a big sigh.
I at least check my skills and abilities for preparation tomorrow.
I don’t want to be the overconfident me who looks down on others. I better level up my status check to check their level and skills. I need to be more careful and cautious.
I need a strategy, just joining is not enough. To win I need to make myself prepared and fight seriously.
This even has that 500,000 gold in the lane.
After preparing my skills and abilities. I then relaxed in the bed.
There is a battle royal tomorrow. My blood is pumping and I’m quite excited.
“I wonder what kind of people I will fight tomorrow.”
I then decided to fell asleep early for the upcoming fight tomorrow.
