Elemental Queen

Crystal POV "Young lady you had better be up already or you will be late for your final fitting!" My mom was yelling up the stairs as I was exiting my bathroom as I had just finished my shower. "Ya mom I'm up! I'll be down in a little bit I'm just getting dressed." As I look at the clock on my bedside table I notice that it is 9:30 in the morning and my final fitting for my gown for tomorrow was at 10:30. I go into my closet and find my black skinny jeans and my favorite hot pink tank and put them on. Leaving my closet I put on my black leather jacket and my knee high black boots. As I grab my backpack that has my wallet, helmet and keys there was a knock on my door. Without waiting for a come in from me, my door opens and standing there is my twin and best friend Steel. Sometimes I wonder how we are twins when he stands at 6 feet tall and I am only 5 feet tall. Both of us have dark brown hair and brown eyes with gold flecks in them. Unfortunately that is where the likeness ends. "Hey brat you ready to go? If we don't leave soon I am pretty sure mom might just have a major coronary. You know she wants everything to be perfect." "Ya I'm ready Steel. Hey don't you think mom is going a little overboard with this whole birthday planning thing? I mean like hello we don't need the whole world to know that we are 16 now. And.....and.....and" "Whoa slow down ok. Yes mom may be going a little overboard but hey come on. We only turn 16 once and plus I'll be right there next to you making sure that all that crazy leaves you alone ok. So come on let go. Maybe we can get some food while we r there ok?" I nod and start walking down the stairs with Steel right beside me. We head to the garage where we have our motorcycles parked. Yep that's right motorcycles. Trust me my mom was not happy when my dad came in with both sets of keys for me and Steel. You see my mom always wanted me to be this perfect little fragile flower but I wound up turning into my daddy's little tomboy. I prefer to ride my bike over driving a car. As Steel walked over to his Harley-Davidson Livewire I can just feel my mom lingering behind me as I walk to my hot pink custom BMW S 1000 RR. "Yes mom did I forget anything that you need me to do for you? We are going to be late and I don't wanna be." "No dear I just wish that you didn't insist on riding that thing. You could hurt yourself and I don't know what we would do if......." "Kara, dear, let her be. You know that Steel will be there so I know for a fact she will be fine." my father John came up behind my mother and held her close to him. "Go on you two and be careful ok." "We will dad we promise!" Both Steel and I reply as we put on our helmets and kick off heading to the mall within our territory. ------------ "Seriously Steel I hate wearing dresses. Why can't I just wear jeans. It's so not cool." I find myself saying as soon as we get home from the mall with our clothes in our arms. "I mean I get it Raylynn may love getting all pretty and everything but I hate it and mom knows that....." "Hey sis chill you'll be fine and just think of all that pink leather on your dress that mom will hate." Steel consoled me as I nod thinking of the dress that was made for me for tomorrow. "Your right it is pretty awesome but her not as awesome as your neon green leather suit. You know for a fact she is going to really hate that." "Ya I know but I couldn't let my favorite sis be the only one having some awesome leather on tomorrow. Plus think of Raylynn's face when we come walking down in our outfits. She hates leather more then mom does." We both start laughing as we walk up the stairs to put our outfits in our rooms. At the top of the stairs our dad is waiting for us with a smile on his face. You see our mother may dote on our older sister and our little brother but us twins are the dream pair for our dad. "Hey you two after you put that stuff down come see me in my office ok. I need to talk to you guys about tomorrow." "Sure thing dad."we say as we rush to our rooms to hang our outfits up and then we make our way to our dad's office on the first floor. Our dad is the alpha of the pack that we live in and is loved by all. As we all file in and shut the door dad turns to us from the window that looks out over the garden that I put so many hours in for him to have something beautiful to look out at. "As you two know tomorrow you will get your hair color and supernatural beings and there are some rules that you must follow no matter what. First of all when you wake up in the morning you are required to take a shower and when you are done you must cover your head so no one but you know what the color change is. You are allowed to show each other but no one else. Second at the time of you birth which is 7:45 in the evening we will announce you guys at the party and you will at that time be receiving you being. As your alpha you are required to tell me what that being is right away. After you let me know what your being is your mother and I will have you come to the stage where you will reveal your hair color and we will all decide where you will be sent to.. Follow these rules and everything should go very smoothly." At this time I noticed that dad had tears in his eyes. "Daddy are you ok? Why are you crying?" I said standing up and coming over to his chair. When I reached him, he reached out and pulled me onto his lap. "I am ok sweetie. I am just sad because there may be a chance that I will lose you two. I can only hope that you guys are wolves as well so that you can stay here with us forever. Don't get me wrong I will love you guys no matter what you are but I can only pray to the godess that you can stay here." "I am sure everything will go well tomorrow dad. I promise you that no matter what I will protect Crystal with all that I have." Steel looks at dad with tears and determination strong in his eyes. "Thank you Steel and I know you will. Now both of you go eat your dinner and then head to bed. You both have a big day ahead of you tomorrow." Nodding our heads we took off and did what we were told thinking only of tomorrow as we both headed off to sleep. ----The Next Morning---- My alarm started to go off in the morning and all I could think about was that today is my birthday. As I reach over to turn off my alarm I remember all of my fathers rules and proceeded to make my way over to my shower. as I turn on the shower I refuse to look at my reflection in the mirror. As i stated to wash my hair i started to notice that there colored water running down my body and then it became totally. Not paying any mind after a few minutes I finished with my shower and got out and started to dry myself off. Taking my time I went to the mirror and started to clear the steam away and what I saw before me took me by complete surprise. at the top of my head was a dark royal purple that blended into a brilliant hot pink and underneath was a gorgeous shade of aqua blue. My breath was taken from me at that very moment. In our world when you have 3 shades of color in your hair, it typically means that you are destined to be a mermaid or a siren. However my body felt none of the attributes that come from being a mermaid. After a few moments of staring at myself in the mirror I noticed that there was a knock on my door. I grab my large pink towel and cover my body while wrapping my hair in a hair wrap. "Who is it?" I call out only to hear steels voice calling to me. "Crystal did you just get out of the shower? I need to come in to show you something." I tell him to wait for a minute. "I'll unlock my door then head to my closet. Give me a minute to go to my closet then come in ok. I need to show you something too." "OK sis just hurry ok." So I walk over to my door and unlock it then quickly run to my closet. I hear Steel come into my room and immediately lock my door behind him. I quickly throw on some under wear that will match my dress for tonight and a baby blue wrap sun dress. as I walk out of my closet I see Steel laying on my bed holding the teddy bear he gave me years ago like it was the last time he was ever going to see it. "Steel are you ok? What's the matter? And why are you holding snuggleton like this is the last time that you are going to see him?" I ask him as I walk up and snuggle close to my brother. "Crystal are you willing to show me your hair change if I show you mine? I kind of want to know if I am alone in this problem or if we are in this together." he says with fear and sadness in his voice and eyes. "Of course I will Steel, but something tells me that you are not alone. We will unwrap at the same time ok." I say. "OK I'll do the count for us. Ready ok 1,2,3....." We both unwrap our hair and let it down. When I look over at Steel all I could do was stare and I feel in love with my brother's hair. At the very top of his head was a dark midnight blue that blended into a bright neon green and underneath was a bright shade of fire orange. His hair look exactly like mine only it was in all of his favorite colors. As I move my eyes up to his I find him staring at my hair with the same realization that I just had. "Crystal we have the colors that are meant to tell us that we are meant to be mermaids but I don't feel like one." Steel says in a low voice, "I feel like a wolf but so much stronger. How do you feel?" I look at him nodding my head as words seem to have failed me at this point. I get up from my spot when I was sitting next to my brother and wrap my arms around him. As Steel holds me in one of his big hugs I find myself crying and praying to the godess that no matter what she will keep my brother with me wherever I am forced to go. "Come on sis wipe your eyes and wrap up your beautiful hair so we can go eat breakfast. Then when we are done we will go to my room where we will rest and watch movie until it's time to get ready." Steel says as he gets up and pulls me with him. Doing what he says I look over at him and see nothing but love and care in his eyes. "Steel can I take my dress into your room I wanna get ready with you. If I get changed in my room I know for a fact that Raylynn will try to come in and make me all girly and that is not what I want for tonight. Please Steel." I looked over at him only to find him already carrying my dress out the door of my to his room across the hall. I smile at him and head out of my room and down the stairs. Breakfast was over quite quickly considering the fact that mom wanted to get everything perfect for tonight. As Steel and I start to make our way back up to his room, I start to feel someone pulling on the bottom of my dress. I turn around looking to see who it was only to have the shining face of our little brother Godric standing two steps below me. I lean over with my arms wide up and he flew straight into my arms. "Hi baby. Are you ok? Do you need sissy's help with something?" He looked at me with completely serious eyes and then looked at Steel. In his small but serious voice he said, "Can I come hang out with you guys please? Ray-Ray won't leave me alone and I don't wanna deal with her right now. Please Steel? Please Crystal?" I look over at Steel and he nods his head. We know exactly what he means. Our older sister Raylynn is always known for being so annoying to all of us, just because she is the oldest. Ever since mom and dad told her that once she finds her mate she will be the next alpha, she seemed to find many ways of reminding us. As the three of us make our way to Steel's room I hear someone calling my name. Trying my best not to snark back knowing exactly who it was, I turn around to see Raylynn coming towards me with a determined look on her face. Looking over at Steel, I knew I could survive by not saying anything. "Crystal come on we need to get you ready. I already have mom and all of the stylist waiting in your room and......" "Hold it Ray. Crystal isn't going with you at all." Steel quickly interjects before she could get any further. Anyone who gets to know me knows I don't do anything girly and there is no way anyone can make me. "Her stuff is already in my room and both you and mom know that when it comes to all that girly stuff she would rather claw her own eyes out. Now go get yourself all dolled up and leave us alone." With that Steel opened his door and pushed me and Godric in ahead of him. As Ray stood there looking like a fish out of water, Steel closed the door in her face and then turned to face us. We all couldn't hold it in anymore. All three of us started laughing until there were tears in our eyes. "OK, OK, OK. Let's settle down. Crystal go ahead and take your shower first and deal with your hair in my bathroom. I'll play around with Godric and then when you are done I'll shower and get ready we have 2 hours till the party. Let's do this." ----2 hours later---- As I finished getting ready I found myself looking into the mirror for the first time since this morning. I have to admit I look amazing. The dress that I had made for tonight was a hot pink leather form fitted dress. It had spaghetti straps to hold it up and it was long in the back and shorter in the front. The sweetheart line covered all my important parts up top. At the back of the dress near the bottom, in black lace was our family crest. Our crest is that of a howling wolf looking over a shoreline cliff. My hair was straightened and then put back up in its cover for the great revealing. I looked over at Steel and found that we really do think alike. His suit was made of neon green leather tailor made to show off his muscles. On the back of his jacket in black lace as well was our family crest. We both look at each other and nod. It's time to face the music. As we walk down the stairs we find that the party is in full swing. Everyone from all of the neighboring packs and other supernatural groups are here ready to see where we might go and what we might be. As we reach the last few steps I find myself stumbling over my platforms. If Steel hadn't caught me I would have fallen. All of the sudden the music stopped and all eyes were on us. Looking up nodding that I was alright every person in the room started to cheer. All I could think as we mingled was one thing, "Let the games begin." ---Later in the evening---- It is 7:30 and it is almost time for mom and dad to announce us and present us to the world. Knowing that we needed to go to the stage, Steel and I make our way over there. All of the sudden I stop as a pressure started to make my head hurt. Steel turned around and noticed that I wasn't moving. "Crystal are you ok? Come on let's go sit you down by the stage ok." Nodding weakly I allowed him to guide me over to the chairs that are right next to the stage. As I sit down I noticed that the look on his face seemed to match mine. As quickly as the pain had hit me it went away and then I hear someone calling my name from inside of me. "Crystal close your eyes. It's ok we just need to talk. My name is Saphira and I am your wolf." As I close my eyes I see the hot pink eyes of my wolf but I can not see the rest of her. "Why can't I see all of you? Oh I have to tell my father that I am a wolf......" "NO!" Saphira yells in my head. "You can't tell anyone what you are. Trust me on this ok. You are part of a prophecy and so is your brother. All you can do is show your hair color and then declare yourself a rogue. Please do it now. I will be right here with you and so will Steel and Colton." "OK Saphira I'll do as you say. By the way who is Colton?" "Colton is Steel's wolf now go get up and take off your cover." Opening my eyes I see Steel looking at me and then nod. He was also told to do the same as I was and we were both ready. We walked up to the stage at perfect timing as our dad was starting to call us up. "Steel and Crystal please tell us what supernatural you were blessed with and show us your hair." Without saying a single word we both take our hair covers off. I had to tip my head down to take mine off so it took me a little bit. However Steel just pulled his off and the sound from the guests was loud. All of the sudden I feel all eyes on me. Pulling my cover off I flip my hair up and over my shoulders. Looking at all of the wide eyes I knew I can't turn around to see my dad's reaction. "MERMAIDS!?!?! THHEY ARE MERMAIDS?!?!? HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN TO OUR FAMILY!!!!" Raylynn started screaming while our mom fainted. "SILENCE NOW!"I say with a loud commanding voice. "We are wolves but as of this moment we declare ourselves rogues and will leave within 15min. Thank you all for the party but we are leaving now." Stepping down, I rushed up to my room where I stuffed my 3 backpacks with all of my clothes including the dress I was wearing and quickly changed into jeans and my hot pink tank top. Throwing my leather jacket, boots and helmet on, I rushed down to my bike that was in the driveway. Steel was already on his bike and was ready to take off with me. As I threw my leg over my bike, dad came running up to me with 5 manilla envelopes in which he placed into my last backpack that was in my saddlebag. "Both of you be safe ok. Now go before your mother sends the warriors after you to kill you. GO NOW!!! I'LL FIND YOU GUYS SOME DAY!!! GGGGOOOOOOOO!!!!!" With that we took off and didn't turn around even once.
