CHAPTER 32: Aftermath It was still dark when Selene and Caelen finally returned to the high council’s compound. Dawn had not yet broken and the first light was only beginning to tease the horizon. The cool air hung heavy between them quietly charged as they walked side by side through the shadowed courtyard and neither of them spoke a word.
