CHAPTER 52: Raven’s Hill
Beta Zane stood on the second floor of the pack house as silent as a ghost. His hands were clasped tightly behind his back with his jaw tight as he stared through the wide glass window.
Below, the training fields stretched out like a stage beneath the setting sun. Warriors sparred and apprentices shouted commands but Zane’s eyes weren’t on them. They were on Selene.
She stood near the edge of the field with her long braid swaying behind her as she laughed at something Alpha Caden had said. The two of them stood close...too close, in Zane’s opinion. Her laughter drifted faintly up to where he stood and something in his chest twisted painfully.
