CHAPTER 53: An Alpha's Fury
“Caelen…” Selene began cautiously but his expression cut her words short as he advanced toward Caden with his fists clenched.
“How dare you...” he started with his voice low but deadly with a growl creeping beneath his tone.
Caden’s expression remained calm and composed almost serene in the face of the Alpha King’s aggression. He took a step back, bowing slightly in a gesture of respect that seemed to only fuel Caelen’s anger.
“You’ve got no right!” Caelen snapped, suddenly lunging forward.
Selene’s eyes went wide and she didn’t hesitate. She stepped between them, placing her hands firmly on Caelen’s chest.
“Stop it!” she shouted with the force in her voice surprising even herself. “You have no right to do this, Caelen!”
