Selene stared down at the old piece of paper like it might crumble in her hands. The writing was faint and faded brown on yellowed edges. She squinted, trying to make out the words.
“One who was lost… shall be the one to claim the moonstone,” she read slowly with her brows pulling together.
Then she laughed in a short and sharp laugh that made Soren’s expression tighten.
“This is just some old bullshit, Soren,” she said, shaking her head. “You're actually casting your faith for this?”
Soren didn’t smile and his gaze stayed fixed on her, steady and serious.
“It’s not bullshit, Selene. You were lost but you were found. The prophecy fits you perfectly.”
