CHAPTER 25: When Eyes Meet Again
For a few seconds she didn’t even know where she was. Her hands trembled as she looked around the carriage. The curtains were half drawn and the sunlight outside had suddenly become hot and shiny hinting at high noon.
Soren sat across from her with his eyes fixed on her face with concern.
“You’re having that nightmare again, aren’t you?” he asked quietly.
Selene exhaled and pushed her hair back.
“It’s nothing,” she murmured. “I’m fine, Soren.”
He didn’t look convinced but he didn’t press either. Selene turned her gaze out the small window and her eyes widened.
