Once more, the damn elevator had the worst timing in the world. A simple ding, and the moment was broken. Stepping out, I made sure Calliope kept up with me this time as we walked outside and headed to my car. I placed her things in the back, made sure she was buckled in, and then pulled away.
The drive was quiet, with only her soft directions guiding me. It took a while before we arrived in front of a red-brown building that looked like every other one around it.
“This is… nice,” I commented, glancing at it.
