We jump right into building the prototype. Meimi sorts through piles of parts around the room. I keep reviewing the schematic on her data pad. According to the readout, we’re supposed to finish this thing in a matter of hours. Based on what I saw before, we don’t necessarily have enough raw materials here. Meimi picks at another knot of wires, pauses and sighs.
I step up to her side. “Do you wish to also contact Chloe and Zoe? I understand they have skills that may be useful.”
Meimi’s eyes widen. “Who told you about them?” She then holds out her arm, palm forward, in a motion that means hold on. “Let me guess. Miss Edith told you?”
