Feeling Of Betrayal
April Sanders
"Mam...wake up…" I heard a distant voice calling me. I gently opened my eyes, and I saw her. It was a curvy lady; her hair was a bit messy, and her eyes were tinted black, matching her plumb lips and pale skin.
"W...who are you?" I asked, feeling tired.
"I'm the maid in Greenville Kingdom," she said while lowering her face.
I scanned my environment, and I noticed the environment was new. I had never been here before, and my heart was beating so fast. I was still confused about why I was there.
' Promise me you will survive, promise me,' it was like a flash memory of when my father had made me promise; the fight was brutal; I could remember someone hitting my head with a pistol; my vision was blurry, so I couldn't really recall; it did go as far as putting me in the situation that I am in right now.
"Mam..." The chubby lady in front of me brought me back to reality.
"Ah..." I sounded startled.
"Here is your food; I'll be leaving," she said as she stood up to leave while leaving the food behind.
The place where I was was dark and creepy, brought cold shivers down my spine, and made cold sweat drip down my body. I was trying to calm my nerves when I heard the sound of the door, which was roughly pulled open.
A young man walked in; he was wearing dark clothes, his blue eyes focused on me, and his messy dark hair cascaded down his shoulders.
I gulped when I noticed his pale skin. He was looking into my eyes as he got closer and closer.
"Who are you, and what am I doing here?" My voice trembled.
"Don't be scared; just believe you are in the right place." He said this as he leaned just inches away from me. I could perceive his murky scent; it was the combination of seawater and vanilla. I closed my eyes, basking myself in his scent. His scent was distinctive, and it made me wish he could touch me already.
'Get a grip on yourself, April; you are losing it,' I told myself inwardly.
As he neared closer, I felt my wolf howl for the first time. I am confused; I don't know what's happening.
"I don't know why those I held captive are always beautiful, much worse with your captivating silver eyes." He said it in a deep, husky tone. My cheeks turned red from his comments; it made me feel drenched down there. Could this be love at first sight?
'no.... he's...'
"It's such a pity that you will be sold to someone else; it's part of the bargain." He said stopping my wolf from continuing her sentence.
He leaned even closer to me; he was about to kiss my lips. I closed my eyes, stupidly expecting the kiss, but it never landed. His scent was something that was making my wolf growl with need.
He suddenly stood up; he was about to leave. I didn't know when I started struggling to get closer to him.
In less than a second, he was gone. I missed his presence, which was very weird. I stood in the room in silence. Thoughts of how everything started overwhelmed me—the thought of bloodshed, the cries of the pack members, the need to be helped—but no one came to the rescue.
After what seemed like ages, a young lady who had been here a while ago arrived with another plate of food. My stomach growled when I saw the food. I just wanted to have a taste of it.
"Here is your food, mam." She said it calmly, and she suddenly tried to untie me from the heavy ropes, which was something that baffled me. When she was done, she left again. I slowly ate the food as I decided to take a nap in the dusty environment.
While sleeping, I heard the sounds of people talking, but the voice was familiar; I couldn't recall who it was. I took a deep breath, my heart beating so fast as I stood up and steadily walked towards the door, but their words were incoherent. I was still curious, so I slowly managed to walk further after I had managed to open the door.
Then I saw her; she was standing; it was Rebecca; she was beside someone; she had a smirk on her face.
"Let's be going." He said, the voice was too familiar, but I can't recall who it was. I went further, and that was when I saw Jeffery Bills!
"Have you been given the money?" she asked.
"Yes, he wrote a cheque for 10 million dollars," he said with a broad grin etched on his face.
"I still can't believe April could be so dumb to have never realized that you never cared," she laughed hysterically.
"I'm still baffled at the same thing; she was as stupid as being ready to be the donor when I urgently needed a kidney transplant; she was even ready to lie to her parents, so she could get some money from them, only for the fool to give me the ammo I wanted," he said.
"Much worse, I just had to kill her parents to take her with me because her parents were too resilient." He said there was no ounce of regret in his words; he was talking like he was proud of what he did.
I staggered back, unable to accept the revelation; everything was just too much for a day. I took a deep breath. I couldn't seem to concentrate. Tears slowly slipped down my cheeks, allowing me to delve into the pain.
I ran outside their presence, feeling my heart aching, my body weakened, and my voice trembled as I ran out of the castle. I just want to be out of here.
While I was running, I roughly landed on a cold yet smooth body, and the distinctive scent of seawater and vanilla still lingered.
I slowly looked up to see who it was, and when I saw his face closely, he was both handsome and dangerous. His face was pale, but his features made him strikingly gorgeous.
Then he firmly held my hand. That was when I felt it. The jolt of electricity lingered through my body. I felt myself feeling so weak under his gaze.
He leaned closer to me; he was slowly about to kiss me, but my eyes widened.
when I heard what my wolf said.
"MATE."
