Weak, early morning sunshine shone through a crack in the drapes. Simon shifted in the bed, seeking a more comfortable position. He was being weighed down again. Heavy warmth. He looked down at the arm wrapped around his chest. It was decidedly human. Long, tapered fingers curled against his ribs. Simon rolled carefully onto his side. Kelly’s dark tousled head lifted and he blinked groggily at Simon. “You okay?” Kelly mumbled. “More or less. You changed back,” Simon said, then decided that was a rather stupid and obvious observation. But, considering he was barely awake, that was probably excusable. “Yup.” Kelly eased out of the way, so Simon could roll the rest of the way onto his back without banging his arm into Kelly.
