Chapter Twenty-Seven Jim had expected the request for a while and wasn’t surprised when it came. The associate assistant dean of the forestry school would be conducting a tour and needed a key to one of the gates closest to campus. He didn’t tell Jim who was taking the tour, but Jim knew. Jim dropped off a key at the appointed hour, but it was the wrong key, of course. Jim had changed the locks on all the gates at Tom’s suggestion, and there was only one good key and it was in his pocket. Tom had made several suggestions. The key was only one of them.
