Joshua was surprised when Dr. Reese came in that afternoon and told him that he would be discharged from the hospital shortly. He had expected to be a patient for at least a few days, not to be released in a matter of hours. Joshua knew that as soon as he left the building, his punishment would begin, and the more he thought about it, the more he hated the idea. He was sitting in the chair in his room, pouting, when Julian walked in to collect him.
“Are you ready,” Julain asked, grinning at the defeated man in the chair.
“Do I have a choice?” Joshua asked in reply as he got to his feet.
“No. But I thought I would ask. We took all of your things to my father’s house this afternoon. Is there anything else you need? If so, we can pick it up on the way,” Julian offered.
