***Nick’s Point of View***         Nick sent Lizzy a text telling he would be at her apartment around 7 to pick her up.  He couldn’t wait to see her.  The meeting took longer than he thought and when he came out she was already gone.  This woman was a mystery to him and he kind of liked it.  It would make it easier on him when he took her home.  Then him and his family could figure out everything together.  With that thought he picks up the phone and calls his mother.     “Hello”?     “Hey mom.  It’s me nick”.     “How are you doing son?  Ready to come home yet”?     “Not quite.  I met a girl when I went out with Axle”.     “Oh?  Well do you think she’s your mate”?     “Possibly.  Luke goes crazy in my head every time I am near her”.     “That’s a good sign dear it means her recognizes her.  It shouldn’t be to much longer now”.     “Hopefully not.  I just hope she understands when I bring her home and doesn’t leave”.     “You will be fine Nick.  Always tell the truth and nothing can go wrong.  Gotta go son, take care and I love you”.     “Love you to mom”.         He hung up and just hung his head.  What was he going to do if she didn’t accept him?  It would break him for sure and he wouldn’t be able to take over.  Axle would be next in line and he would hate to see him run the pack.  No!  He must not think like this.  He needed to have a clear head on his shoulders when he went to dinner.         He quickly took a shower and got ready for his date.  Throwing on some jeans and a maroon button down and he was on his way.  Hopefully she wouldn’t think the place was to fancy.  She deserved the best but he could tell she wasn’t use to getting that.  But with him there all of that would change very fast.         He started on his drive to Lizzy’s apartment and got lost in his thoughts.  Before he knew it he was standing in front of her door waiting to knock.  Finally he knocked and she opened up right away.  He was speechless.  He was instantly taken aback with the aroma coming from her and her outfit looked like it was made for her. ***Lizzy’s Point of View***         We decided that I should wear a burgundy blouse with a tight black pencil skirt that had a slit up the thigh along with a pair of black strappy heels.  It was the perfect outfit to make him drool over me and I couldn’t wait.         I didn’t have to wait long either because once I finished my makeup I heard a knock on the door.  I opened it up and smiled.  Nick was looking starstuck when he saw me.  I knew he would love this outfit and I’m glad Abby helped with the accessories.  She picked out one of my favorite necklaces with 2 little wolves hanging from it and paired it with some hoop earrings.  I need to get him going if we are gonna make it on time.     “Good evening Mr. Green.  You look very handsome tonight”.     “Please just call me Nick.  And thank you, you look beautiful tonight as well Lizzy”.     “Thank you.  Should we get going? Wouldn’t want to be late”.     “Probably but first”.         Then he kissed me.  It wasn’t the heated kind of kiss that we shared this morning.  It was a tender kiss, like he was afraid he was going to break me or something.  I parted my lips as an invitation and he gladly accepted and deepened the kiss.  When his hands started to move up and down my sides I broke the kiss off breathing heavy.     “So should we go?” I asked.     “Yes, right this way”.         The ride to the restaurant was nice as we sat and talked about our days and what we thought about the merge.  It was nice to finally have someone understand when I talked about work.  I love Abby but she never knew what I was talking about.  When Nick took my hand I lost all my train of thought and he just smiled at me and said “We are here gorgeous”.     “Good, because I am starving”.         I sat and waited for Nick to open my door and help me out.  It wasn’t every day a girl got treated like a princess so she was gonna take advantage of it.  Taking her hand he walked her inside and talked to the host for a minute before they were seated at a booth away from prying eyes. ***Nick’s Point of View***         Getting to the restaurant was the easy part of the night.  Getting her to understand his family history was going to be harder.  At least he thought until he looked down and saw her necklace and just smiled.     “What’s got you smiling like a fool”?     “I just noticed your necklace.  It’s beautiful, where did you get it”?     “My mother gave it to me before I left home”.     “Well she defiantly has good taste”.         She just keeps getting more and more interesting with all the little things he learns about her.  She is defiantly what the pack needs and she doesn’t even know it.  That’s why we were here tonight.  So he could hopefully tell her about himself and she would leave him hanging.  Maybe that’s why he was stalling because he heard his wolf Luke.     Why are you stalling dude?  She is our mate and will accept us.     How do you know that?  We barely know each other.     Just trust me.  She will not reject us.         With that I looked back at her as she is studying the menu.  She is so cute just doing the basic things like reading a menu.  I sure hope Luke was right and she wouldn’t reject us.  It would hurt to much but I would accept it and move on.  Maybe he should wait till after she orders.  At least then she will have food to help keep her here.         Once the waiter comes back with the bottle of wine Nick picked they ordered their dinners and waited. Nick poured Lizzy a glass and smiled when she gladly took it from her.  Could she tell he had something big to tell her?  She was acting just as nervous as he felt.  Time to get it over with no more beating around the bush.     “Lizzy I have something I want to share with you”.     “What more could you possibly have to share? We shared each other’s company this morning and are sharing dinner and this bottle of wine right now”.     “I know.  I just want to tell you a little about my family.  Once the new design is done I am due to head back for a while”.     “Head back? Don’t you live in the city”?     “When I have important work I have to attend to yes.  The rest of the time I live with my family and pack out in the cabin and village”.     “Your family has a whole village?  Where is? Is it close by?  Do they track you when you are gone”?     “Calm down and I will tell you everything you want to know.  But first, they do not track me when I’m gone.  It is my job as the next alpha to keep in contact with my pack”.     “Pack? As in wolves?  Are you kidding me”?     “No I’m not kidding you.  There are roughly around 300 members in our pack.  My father takes care of everything and runs the pack effortlessly”.     “So just let him run the pack and leave me out of it”.     “I don’t think I can do that Lizzy.  You are my mate and I need you like a fish needs water to breathe”. Smooth real smooth.  You need to do something Nick.  We are losing her. I know man just give me a few to figure this out.     “Your mate?  What the hell is that?  I can’t be your mate we just met”.     “When a wolf finds its mate it knows instantly by the way they smell.  For instant you smell like cranberry’s and oranges and I just can’t get enough”.     “That’s because it is my favorite shampoo and body wash.  So it would make sense that I smell like that”.     “Please Lizzy, listen to me.  I need you beside me so I know how to breathe, to stay calm, and be at peace”.     “This is just to much.  I can’t handle all of this right now.  I think I’m just gonna get a cab and head home”.         Before he could say anything else she was gonna from the table.  He knew this wasn’t going to be easy for her but he at least thought she would hear him out.  Once he told her she was a wolf though she didn’t want anything to do with him and he couldn’t blame her.
