The Unexpected Mate

Chapter 5

***Lizzy’s Point of View***

        Just like that he was out the door leaving me by myself.  All I could do was wonder how I’d let that happen.  I’ve never been one to be spontaneous but with him I just couldn’t help myself.  When he is around that’s all she could see.

        What was wrong with me? I’ve only just met this guy and he takes up all my extra time.  Reluctantly I jumped back in the shower to start getting ready again.  I just needed to get through the day and then I will see him again.  With that thought in mind I finished getting ready and left for work.

        Just as I assumed, I had tons of paperwork to catch up.  I wasn’t gonna let that ruin my day though.  My day has had a great start and I’m determined to make it have a great finish.  She was so engrossed in her work that she didn’t notice that someone had come up to the desk until they cleared their throat.

    “Oh. I’m sorry I didn’t see you there. Is there something I can help you with”?

    “Matter of fact there is. I’m here because I have a 10:30 meeting”.

    “If you can tell me with who I will let them know you are waiting”.

    “Please inform Mr. Smith that Nick Green is here to see him”.

        I stop working and look up to see him.  I must be dreaming.  There is no way he would be here asking to talk to my boss.  I tried regaining my composure but it was no use he already recognized me.

    “Good morning again Lizzy.  It’s nice to see you made it”.  

    “It’s nice to see you Mr. Green.  I had plenty of time after my visitor left”. 

        Before he could say anything else I paged Mr. Smith informing him that his 10:30 meeting was here.  I sent him on his way before anything else could be revealed about this morning.  I need to talk to Abby. She can help me get this whole thing under control.

***Nick’s Point of View***

        What were the chances that she would work for the firm we were trying to merge with.  There was still a lot that he needed to learn about this woman.  But he was most defiantly gonna figure out all her secrets.  Hopefully before she figures out all of his.

        He was going to have to tell her soon though because he was due back at the cabin after the new design was finished.  He would have it done before Thursday but was gonna delay it as long as possible.  He needed more time with her before he would take her to meet everyone.  She wouldn’t understand my world without explanation and it was his job to explain.

        Just then Mr. Smith opened his office door and welcomed him in.  It was his job to close this deal and the merge before the new design went out.  Luckily he just so happens to be the best sweet talker there is.  This meeting shouldn’t take long thanks to his talent then he could possibly take Lizzy out for lunch.  

        He was in and out of the office within the hour with Mr. Smith agreeing to the merge and loving the new design.  Now all he had to do was get the design approved by the head hancho himsself.  Alpha Green aka dad was tough on us when it came to the company.  All of his siblings worked for some part of the company it just so happens that he’s suppose to be taking over everything by his next birthday where he will be turning 21.

         Was he prepared for it it?  Technically yes, he’s been trained to take over his whole life with being the oldest son. Was he mentally prepared for it though?  Heck no, he still had a life to live and he wanted to enjoy every minute of it.  That started with his date tonight with Lizzy.  If he had anything to do with it tonight would end like today had started.

***Lizzy’s Point of View***

        I called Abby when I got out and asked her to come help me get ready for my date.  She agreed so I was impatiently waiting for her to get there so I could dish out all my dirty secrets.  Well almost all, she didn’t need to know how this morning started out.  Knowing Abby she would want to start with clothes so I already had a few outfits picked out awaiting her approval.

   “ Lizzy come let me in”!  I hear her yell from the other side of the door when I walked into the living room.

    “Hold your horses Abby I’m coming”.

    “About time you opened up.  I’ve been on my feet all day and they are killing me”.

    “Well go sit down and I will bring you something to drink”.

While Abby was getting comfortable I was trying to figure out just how much I was going to tell her.  That questions was answered for me when Abby asked “So who are you going out with tonight?  He has to be hot if he’s got you all flustered”.

    “You know that guy from the speed dating that I gave my number to”?

    “Yea. You were practically drooling when you told me about him”.

    “Well his name is Nick Green. And he just so happens to from the firm that is trying to get our company to merge with them”.

    “You act like this is a bad thing.  If you merge then you could possibly see him more at the office.  There is nothing hotter than office s*x you know”.

    “Seriously Abby?  That’s not what I want to hear right now.  So words of encouragement would be nice about my date and nothing more”.

    “Fine. Let’s see theses outfits then so I can go home and soak in my tub”.

        With that we headed to my room to pick the perfect outfit that would have Nick drooling over me.  Abby was defiantly the one to go to for help with this and I am glad I asked her even though she lives to embarrass me.  When we were done I was almost perfection.  Just needed to add a little makeup and I’d be good to go.

        So I walked Abby out and told her “Thanks for everything girl.”

    “No problem hun. I’m here whenever you need me sweetie.  Don’t forget to tell me all about it at lunch tomorrow”.
