CHAPTER ONE - VIOLET EYES
DANTE'S POV I stood in the VIP section of the club, observing the people dancing below me. In my hand was a glass of whiskey and on my face was a bored expression. I was not really feeling the place. I gave a signal to one of my men, alerting him that I was about to leave and he and the guard came to my side immediately, one in front of me, pushing people out of the way, so I could pass easily as I walked down the stairs and the other guard behind me, making sure that no one got too close to me. As we reached the stairs, we began to make our way through the crowd. "Oww," a girl fell down in front of us suddenly. My guard ignored her, even though he had obviously pushed her. "Hey!!!" she screamed at him angrily as she gathered herself up. "What the hell is wrong with you? How could you just push me off like that?!" she shouted loudly and by now, several people had turned to look at us. I groaned inwardly annoyed at my guard's mistake, and then I stopped suddenly and turned back to look at the girl. Her eyes were violet, like a perfect blend of deep blue and red and, right now, she was glaring at me angrily. "Oh, I am guessing that you are the leader here. Could you get your man to apologize?" she shouted at me. I looked at her in astonishment. Whoever this girl was, she was clearly new to this club. If she wasn't, she would have known by now that I was the owner of this club. She would have known that nobody dared to talk to me like that. She would have known that I was a man to be feared. But she did not know any better, and now she would have to learn. "What?" She asked me angrily, "Cat got your tongue? Tell your man to apologize to me!" she demanded, with her arms folded. Someone came to her side, a girl who looked around the same age as her, probably her friend. Her friend looked like she was trying to stop her from confronting me, but the girl stayed stubborn, her violet eyes still glaring at me. As much as I was annoyed by her rudeness, I was suddenly amused. For the first time that night, something unpredictable was happening. The guard that had pushed her came to my front. "Do you have any idea who you are talking to?" he asked the girl in an intimidating tone. "I don't care, all I want is an apology. I don't know if you noticed, but when you pushed me, you also knocked over my drink, so apart from an apology, I would also need a new drink," she said, standing her ground. I did not know what it was about her. Maybe it was the sight of her petite frame looking up at my guard and glaring at me angrily, or her violet eyes, or that luscious mouth that seemed to get my attention every time she spoke. But I was drawn to her. My guard moved closer to the girl angrily, raising his hand like he was about to smack her when I stepped in. "That will not be necessary, Sebastian," I said to him in a calm but firm tone, and he stepped back. I looked down at the girl with a polite smile on my face. "I am sorry for my bodyguard's behavior," I told her, and she looked up at me with those brilliant eyes of hers. "Thank you, but you didn't offend me, your guard did, so he should be the one to apologize to me," she said in a calm voice, looking from me to my guard. "Sebastian, you heard the lady, please apologize to her," I instructed him, and he sighed deeply in protest before he came forward to apologize to her. "I hope that makes you feel better," I asked her after Sebastian had apologized, and she nodded at me. "Now all that is left is the drink," I said, still looking down at her. "Would you allow me to buy you a drink?" I asked her, lowering down my arm for her to loop with hers. She did not take my hand. She instead gave me a brisk look and walked towards the bar. "Sebastian, keep her friend here occupied, I will be back soon," I said to my guard, and then I walked towards the bar, to where she had sat. "What do you drink?" I leaned down, towards her ear to ask. She shifted away from me, her white cheeks turning pink in what looked like embarrassment. "Um… a Mojito," she said in a low voice, not meeting my eyes, like all her earlier confidence had suddenly evaporated. I signaled for the bar man, who basically ran to me after seeing that I was the one who had called him. "Get this lady a Mojito," I instructed him, and he left immediately. "So…" I started, taking a seat close to hers. "What is your name?" I asked. "I'm Violet," she said to me, still not meeting my eyes. Her name was fitting, I mean it went with her eyes. The bartender arrived with her drink and she stood up immediately. "Thank you for the apology and for the drink, I will be leaving now," she said to me in a frank voice. And just like that, she left me seated at the bar and I watched her disappear into the crowd. I felt drawn to her by some mystical force, and so I followed her. I found her dancing, swaying slightly to the beat and pausing only to sip her drink. She was enthralling. "Don't you have somewhere to be," she asked me suddenly, shouting over the music. "Not anymore," I said firmly. I did not want to be anywhere else all of a sudden. I wanted to be there with her. She came closer to me, with a daring look in her eyes and she took the last gulp of her drink, looking like she wanted me to kiss her, Then she grabbed my shoulders and stood up on her tiptoes and pecked my cheek, shocking me. She looked a bit drunk, with her cheeks pink with embarrassment and her eyes avoiding mine. "Why did you do that?" I asked her with an amused expression. "To thank you for making your guy apologize and for the drink," she said shyly, biting her lips demurely. "In that case, you should thank me properly, don't you think?" I asked her, placing an arm around her waist and pulling her even closer to me. She looked up at me, stunned, as I planted my lips against hers. She did not even try to fight me. As my mouth invaded hers. I could feel every part of her, my teeth trapped her lips in mine, biting her lips softly. Then she kissed me back. Her hands went behind my neck, and her tongue teased my lips, driving me crazy. Her mouth drove me nuts, I wanted to grab her face and hold it to mine as long as possible. The surrounding music seemed to go silent while we kissed, and I wanted it to go on forever. All of a sudden, she pushed me off of her, breaking the kiss, and then she slapped me. I stared at her in confusion, my chest breathing heavily and my cheek stinging. “You freaking pervert, can't you tell that I am drunk?” she asked loudly, her eyes flashing in anger. “Did you think you could just buy me a drink and I would sleep with you or something?” she continued to ask, her voice interrogating as she looked into my eyes. Wasn't she kissing me back? “I don't know what kind of woman you think I am, but I am not some cheap slut, okay? Stay the f**k away from me,” Violet yelled at me, storming off. I stood there trying to process everything I was feeling while my pride took a huge hit. She had pushed me off and slapped me right in front of everyone. Women didn't push me off, I was a freaking good kisser. But she had. I reached into my pocket to call my guard, but my phone was missing and my wallet too. And I could only think of one person who was stupid enough to steal from me. Violet. By the time I reached Sebastian, her friend was gone. “Where are those girls?” I asked him, feeling my rage begin to rise. “They left about two minutes ago. Why sir?” “Call Derek and tell him to lock down the club, that f*****g b***h stole from me. No one is leaving these premises until I say so,” I said to him, seething, and he nodded quickly, taking out his phone to make the call. I was going to teach that girl a very good lesson when I found her. “Sir, the men have searched everywhere, but those girls have disappeared,” he reported back to me after twenty minutes. Fuck. She was gone already. How dare her? I walked out of the club angrily, so I dropped my guard for one second, and she f*****g steals from me? Sebastian opened the car door for me to sit in the backseat, then he got into the passenger's seat. "Sebastian," I called him, just as my driver started the car. "Yes boss," he answered, turning back to look at me. "Find out everything you can about that girl as soon as possible," I instructed him, and he nodded at me knowingly. It does not matter how fast you ran from me, Violet, I will find you and give you the punishment you deserve.
