Nick stepped through the portal onto the flight deck of the Hunter to find his crew seated at their usual stations. He froze for a second, surprised he wasn’t in a green field surrounded by an army of alien mercs, but relieved to be home. Looking at his surroundings, he saw Siren at engineering, the Kid at sensors, and Bones at weapons, all of them intent on their station’s screens. The only one missing was Gears, who was absent from the pilot’s station, giving Nick a sinking feeling the tech genius may have indeed been killed as Sonara claimed.
What the heck is going on?
“Siren. What’s happening?” asked Nick, moving to the copilot’s station where he sat in the chair.
“We’re monitoring a fleet of Alliance ships entering the system,
