Lucas
As I walk down the road, I take in the beautiful scenery I've grown to love in Redding. Growing up, we were never really allowed to interact with anyone. Now that I'm almost 30 in human years, I don't really abide by Thear's rules anymore. That's probably why Ella's his favorite.
I could've driven but I wanted to enjoy this beautiful day. I walk past colorful trees full of life, dogs having the time of their life running at the dog park. I smell a distinct smell wafting towards me and I follow it, my stomach growling. When I get about 100 feet from the diner, I can hear talking. I've been working on my powers and I'm able to control them a little more. I hear very aggressive talking coming from a pesky guy bothering a woman at her job. Her voice sounds smooth like butter, bouncing off my eardrums like music.
"I don't want to talk to you!" she sounds afraid.
I rush across the street and barge into the diner.
"I SAID--" The pesky man
"If she doesn't have to talk, she doesn't want to talk. Take the hint!" I say to him sternly which catches him off guard.
He turns and looks me up and down not knowing that I could end him in a split second if I wanted to.
"Who the hell are you?!" he asks while the beautiful woman he was arguing with stares at me in awe. She is the most gorgeous woman I've ever seen. It's the way her light brown curls fall ever so subtly in her face and then there are her freckles that accentuate her cheekbones, perfectly.
I clear my throat to refocus and reply sternly, "Someone who respects women's wishes. Walk with me?" I basically drag him out to the alley on the side of the diner and look into his eyes.
"What's that waitress's name?"
"Who? Savannah...?" He's confused at my question.
I look into his eyes again, "Forget about Savannah and don't come back here again, ever."
His eyes turn an icy white color and then he nods and turns to walk away. I guess the long nights of practicing really do help.
I walk back inside where Savannah is staring at me in intrigue.
"May I order?" I smile at her.
I can tell she wants to smile back but her curiosity eats at her, "Well, wait a minute. What did you do or say to Tanner?"
"What matters is he's gone now." I wave her off by pointing to today's specialty on the menu.
She turns to walk away but I grab her hand and instantly feel a spark, literally.
"You felt that?" I ask her.
"Of course I did..." she gets fidgety which I find cute.
"Lucas" I offer her my name.
"Savannah" she blushes which makes my heart start to speed up in pace.
