CHAPTER EIGHT
Emily stood in front of her closet, staring blankly at the array of dresses and tops. She had been looking forward to her first date with Ryan all week, but now that the day had finally arrived, she was a nervous wreck.
She had been crushing on Ryan for months, and she couldn't believe that he had finally asked her out. But what if the date was a disaster? What if they had nothing to talk about?
Emily took a deep breath and tried to calm herself down. She had always been confident and self-assured, but there was something about Ryan that made her feel vulnerable.
Just then, Emily's phone buzzed with a text from Ryan. "Hey, I'm running a few minutes late. Sorry!"
Emily's heart skipped a beat as she read the text. She felt a flutter in her chest, and suddenly, her nerves were replaced with excitement.
When Ryan arrived at Emily's doorstep, he looked even more handsome than she remembered. He was wearing a charming smile, and his eyes sparkled with warmth.
"Hey," he said, handing Emily a bouquet of flowers. "You look beautiful."
Emily felt her cheeks flush as she took the flowers from Ryan. "Thanks," she said, smiling up at him. "You don't look so bad yourself."
As they walked to the car, Emily felt a sense of ease wash over her. Maybe this date wouldn't be so bad after all.
In fact, as the night wore on, Emily found herself having the time of her life. She and Ryan laughed and talked, sharing stories and jokes.
By the end of the night, Emily knew that she was smitten. And as Ryan walked her home, his arm brushing against hers, she felt a spark of electricity that left her breathless.
"Thanks for tonight," Ryan said, smiling down at Emily. "I had an amazing time."
Emily smiled back up at him. "I had a great time too," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Ryan leaned in, his eyes locked on hers. "Would you like to do it again sometime?" he asked, his voice low and husky.
Emily's heart skipped a beat. "Definitely," she said, smiling up at him.
As Ryan leaned in to kiss her, Emily felt a rush of excitement. She knew that this was just the beginning of something special.
