Marriage to my CEO

I sat on the sofa still not knowing how to process it. What happened today was totally out of hands. My boyfriend Matt called me earlier today when I was in my office completing my tasks and assignment, “Hi hon, meet me after work at the restaurant where we had our first date and please do not be late” he said. I was amazed thinking it could be the time that he is going to propose to me but it was something else. That Friday evening, I told Elena, the CEO’s assistant who is now managing the HK company because the CEO has traveled for the past five years now. I’ve never seen him before I only knew his first name that is Elliot. When I went to Elena to tell her that I have to go home early tonight, I heard her speaking with someone on the phone with a smily face that I haven’t seen before. I knocked on the door lightly and I saw her hanging the phone to respond. “Whoever is there can come in” she said. I walked in and I saw her mood changed the immediately I entered. I asked “Miss can I go home early tonight? Please it’s urgent” I said. She sized me with her eyes saying, “okay, whatever. I’m not going to be in charge from next week because Sir Elliott is in town” I thanked her and walked out. But with the hint that the boss is coming back again makes my heart skipped a beat. I was very happy to see yet still I also have a date tonight so I have to prepare for that. I hurried home to pick the best and sexiest dress in my wardrobe. I put on a light makeup to lighten my face. After the dress up, I hailed a taxi to the restaurant but Matt wasn’t even there yet. I was about to call him when he suddenly came in. “Hey Bria”he said. And I replied“Hello love“ and he lead me to our table and ordered something for us. But something surprised me because he didn’t even asked for my opinion on the food he ordered but he just asked the waitress to bring those. But the food was somehow good and well garnished. For the next few minutes, we eat in awkward silence when the silence was no more bearable, I broke that silence by saying,“How was work?“ he replied,“It was pretty much exhausting” “Why dear?” I asked. “I wish I could share it with you but thing is I can’t” he said and I replied, “Okay, if only that thing bothering you will make you happy at the end” I was still waiting for him to say something about our date but he didn’t for a while. I stopped eating and stared at him and he asked, “Why are you looking at me?” “I don’t know,I guess I’m waiting for you to propose”. I said. “Proposal?” He asked me and I replied, “Yes proposal. I just know that’s why you invited me here” “Hell no!” He replied and I asked, “why are we doing here right now?” He signed and looked into my eyes with sadness saying, “I still can’t understand why it didn’t work out for me and you. Maybe our love,was really too good to be true. I love you but I’m sorry.You’re not suitable for for me and you can move on Brianna” “ I don’t get you Matt. I thought you said you love me, I thought we understand each other” I said trying to stop the tears from rolling down my face which I found it difficult. He foolishly said,“You can’t stay in my house anymore because my lover will be here” “How could you Matt? I never I asked for more. All I ever wanted was to be liked by you for whom I am not for who you wanted me to be. But despite all these challenges, I tried all my possible best to satisfied you but now if you want me to go, I will go Matt. I don’t have any more obligations but I want you to know that I never fake love to you. Good Luck with your life” I said as I stomped out of the restaurant not knowing where I was going. When it seems like I couldn’t bear it no more, the tears I have been holding up for so long were rolling down my face that I almost got hit by a car.
