Mr CEO, any last words?

Episode 2

Chapter two:

“What does it seem to you like I'm doing with her?” Ethan Liam immediately replied.

He was shirtless, his perfectly sculpted body and six-packs making him look very attractive under the morning sun.

“Ethan Liam, what is going on here, it's been five years since I was sent to prison for a crime that you committed and you couldn't even care to call me or check up on me as you promised.”

“I was gone all because of you and the best you could do was to bring in my step-sister into the mansion!”

My voice was laced with a mixture of confusion and anger as I spoke.

Ethan Liam had always known that Eva Scott was like my arch-enemy. We never got along since we were kids.

Eva Scott and her mistress of a mother are the reason why my life turned sour from the very beginning, even before I met Ethan Liam.

“Ethan…”

“Angelina Scott, enough of it already!”

“I'm really glad that you have finally come out of prison, now can you please sign these divorce papers and get out of my mansion?!” Ethan Liam said as he tossed a brown file to my face.

Ethan Liam's voice was cold and this was the first time I was hearing him talk after five years.

All I can remember now were the very last moments when Ethan Liam and his father, Mr Austin Liam knelt down and begged me to step up and take the blame for the crime that they were being accused of.

I could also picture perfectly a well-edited video of the face of Mr Williams, their family lawyer as he stood with them and begged me to take the fall for the so-called crime and save the Liam's family from public disgrace and total shutdown of the Liam's group of companies.

“Wait a minute!” I said slowly as I rubbed my hands on my eyes.

“Ethan, are you really saying this to me after all we have been through?!”

“Do you really mean what you are saying to me right now?” I asked as tears threatened to well down my eyes slowly but I was able to hold it.

Ethan Liam didn't say much again, he only stared at me as if I was some curse he was trying to avoid.

Before I could even say another word, Ethan Liam immediately pulled Eva Scott, my step-sister closer to himself and kissed her deeply all in a bid to mock me and irritate me.

Truth be told, it was really working, my heart ached with anger and venom as I removed my face from seeing the both of them kiss.

I stared at the divorce papers and shook my head in shock and bewilderment.

This is really happening, my mom, Mrs Juliet Scott was right, she actually warned me about this decision, apparently in her own words, ‘All men are the same.’

“Could you let me talk to Mr Austin Liam, your dad, I want to know if he is as heartless as you are to allow this to happen to me?”

“You don't have any right or privileges to make demands!”

“How dare you make demands to see my father-in-law, are you really crazy?!” My step-sister, Eva Scott slowly but angrily said as she broke away from the passionate kiss she and Ethan Liam were having.

“Angelina Scott, it's really over between us, my dad, Mr Austin Liam is…really aware of all these processes!”

“As a matter of fact, he was the one who advised that I should divorce you since you were taking forever in prison!”

“I mean no one knew if you were ever going to make it out alive for that hell hole.” Ethan Liam said smiling gleefully as if he was just so glad that he had handed me divorce papers.

“What!” I immediately screamed in shock and curiosity.

“Ethan, I don't believe you at all, there is no way Mr Austin Liam would allow you to divorce my friend after all she had been through for you and your family!”

“Dude, Angelina Scott over here really risked her life, her dreams, goals and freedom to keep that sorry butt of yours off the prison!”

“I bet you have never even seen the terror that can be dished out in Eastfall's maximum security prison!”

“Ethan Liam, allow Angelina Scott to speak to Mr Austin Liam about this…”

“And why would I want to do that?!” Mirabel was immediately rudely interrupted by Ethan Liam who had already gotten angry as he walked closer to us.

“Why would I want to even listen to you on anything that concerns me?!”

“Who made you her spokesperson?!”

“Angelina Scott, it's over between us and I have also put together an alimony for you in the divorce papers. Once you sign the divorce papers, you can keep the cheque of ten million dollars all to yourself.”

“I don't want to see you anywhere around Liam's family mansion ever again in this life!”

“Mr Jones, come here immediately!” Ethan Liam said angrily as he watched Mr Jones walk slowly towards him.

Clearly, from the looks on the face of Mr Jones, he was in no way in support of what Ethan Liam was also doing at the moment.

“Take her outside immediately, take her and her pretend-to-be lawyer of a friend out my gate Immediately!”

“She isn't allowed to come near this mansion ever again!”

“As for the divorce papers, once you are done signing it, you can send it over to me!” Ethan Liam said coldly and he stared at me.

All I could see on his face was pure emotionlessness and anger, this wasn't the same Ethan Liam that I had sacrificed everything for.

This wasn't the same man I went to the prison for.

Why is he doing this? What the heck is going on and why is he acting this way?

I couldn't help but go rampage with my thoughts.

My whole world was already beginning to crumble and the little I could do was not to act weak in front of my step-sister, Eva Scott.

I was really sure she had the front surveillance cameras on and was going to replay the surveillance footage to watch and laugh about how I was divorced.

I will not let this shame linger any longer.

“You know what, Ethan Liam, I will sign these divorce papers here and now!” I said as I said as I immediately signed the divorce papers and handed it over to Ethan Liam who stood there looking shocked as if he hadn't really expected me to sign the divorce papers.

Eva Scott immediately snatched the divorce papers and stared at them.

“Ethan, she signed it!”

“We can actually get married next week, the doctor has already confirmed that I'm pregnant with your son!” Eva Scott said as she hugged Ethan Liam.

She is pregnant with him already? That's just great.

“As for the alimony, you can keep the money to yourself, I don't need it in any way!” I said tossing the bank cheque to his face.

“Can I at least go upstairs and pack my bags?!” I asked as I stared at Ethan Liam.

“There wouldn't be any need for that, because I have already packed your bags since yesterday!”

“Your bags are by the gate, you can pick them up when you get to the gate!” Eva Scott said as she smirked at me, sticking out her tongue towards me.

She was already making fun of me and I knew that this news would not take that long before reaching her mother, Mrs Dorothy, she is also another issue I and my mom had always had even before I ever saw Ethan Liam.

Taking a deep breath I stared at Ethan Liam one last time and shook my head.

I have been a fool, I was warned but I refused and now my life is shattered to smithereens.

“Ethan Liam, I hope you enjoy your newfound love!” I said coldly as Mirabel and I walked to the gate.

I opened the gate post and pulled out my luggage. It had already been packed perfectly just as Eva Scott, my step-sister had said.

Moments later, Mr Jones is helping me carry my bags into the boot of a cab.

Jumping into the cab, Mirabel sat beside me while I sat by the window.

“Sorry, Mr Jones, could you please help pass this ring to Ethan Liam?” I said as Mr Jones walked over to the can and collected the diamond ring from me.

“Where are we headed?” The driver asked as he stared at my face from the rearview mirror.

“Take us to Bluestone Street, I need to see someone important.”

I said as I bent my head and tears began welling down my eyes profusely.
