Episode1
Chapter one:
The Divorce:
Angelina Scott's POV.
“You are free to go and…we don't want to see your really my face here again!”
One of the prison security guards said as he opened the iron gates for me to walk right out of the maximum security Eastfall's city prison.
There I was standing like an alien in front of the prison, the early morning sun almost blinding my eyes.
I had just spent five years of my life serving jail time for a crime Ethan Liam committed…and yes, he is my husband.
What I really don't understand is the fact that for five freaking long years, the man I gave up everything for, my life, my career and my freedom didn't for one day pay me a visit in prison.
Picking up my phone, I reattached my battery and dialed Mr Austin Liam's number but it wasn't connecting.
“Seriously, not available, even outside these stupid prison walls?” I slowly muttered to myself.
“Ma'am, are you waiting for a cab or something?” One of the security personnel asked from the top of the prison rig.
He was holding a fully loaded rifle as he patrolled the main lookout tower.
“Awh…no, not actually.” I immediately replied as I held my bag closer to myself.
“Then move away from the prison gates immediately, unless you are begging to be thrown back into the hell zone!”
“No, no officer, it's okay, I'm already leaving,” I said as I backed away from the gates of the maximum security prison.
I stared at the worn-out slippers I wore, it was the same ones that I had the day the Federal Bureau Investigators and the Eastfall's city police stormed Liam's mansion threatening to arrest my husband, Ethan Liam and his father Mr Austin Liam for some alleged crime.
“C'mon Mirabel, pick up the damn phone!”
“What is wrong with everyone?!” I yelled in anger as I almost smashed my phone on the hard concrete floor.
“Ma'am please step away from the gates of the prison, this is your last warning!”
The voice of the warden now rang from the top of the rig, his voice was cold and detached causing me to shudder backwards and further away from the prison.
Just as I walked through the streets, my eyes were blurry, it was just as if I had been locked away for fifty years.
“Taxi, do you need a cab?” One of the cab drivers immediately called out to me.
Just as I looked up to see who it was, I saw a rather familiar face.
“Get in immediately!” Mirabel said as she opened the door for me.
“What is going on Mirabel, what is really happening?”
“Why isn't anyone picking up their calls?”
“Why isn't my husband, Ethan Liam, even here to pick me up?”
“What the heck is really going on?!” I asked slowly, but my voice had this sense of urgency, anger and frustration reeking all over it.
Mirabel my friend didn't say anything as the cab driver continued on his journey to only God knows where.
“Mirabel, speak to me, I need answers, why isn't Ethan Liam here to pick me up?”
“... Angelina, I really don't know, okay!”
“After you did what you did out of the so-called love, I haven't been around Liam's family at all.”
“You know for some reason I had actually warned you not to take the fall for Ethan Liam's crimes…”
“You should have allowed him to suffer for his crimes…especially that father of his…Don't you know that Mr Austin Liam is the one who secretly runs the unpopular brothel Sleek Babes?”
“I really don't understand you most of the time, you and Mr Ethan Liam had a contract marriage deal and nothing more…and I'm pretty sure that your mom must have warned you also to not take the fall for Mr Ethan Liam and his dad, Mr Austin Liam.”
Mirabel's voice was a bit above whispers as she spoke to me, she was in front of the car with the driver while I was seated in the passenger seat behind her.
Slowly I did bow head as tears began reeking down my face but I immediately wiped it off with the hem of my gown.
“So what about you Mirabel, why didn't you
even call or visit me all these years in prison?” I slowly asked my friend Mirabel expecting nothing but the truth from her.
“Angelina Scott, there is a lot that you need to catch up on, but let me just say this, I tried all my best to reach out to you back at the prison but it was as if someone on the inside was stopping any form of communication with you in the prison.”
“Someone wanted you dead or maybe wanted you to stay longer inside of that hell hole called Eastfall's maximum security prison.”
“But who could that be?” I slowly asked as I glared askance at the cab driver, he was wearing an earbud but I could tell that he was hearing all of what we were saying.
“Now that is left for you to figure it out yourself!” Mirabel said as he plunged her head into the car's headrest.
“Driver flank left, we will be alighting at my house, Liam's family mansion!”
“Ethan Liam owes me some important explanation as to why he hadn't called me or reached out to me and this while in prison.”
I really need to know what is going on, it's really necessary and important that I do that.
Moments later we are arriving at the gate of Liam's family mansion.
The gate opened by itself and then my eyes fell on Mr Jones, the personal butler of Mr Austin Liam.
“Good day Mrs Angelina, it's been quite a long time, trust your ride home was great?”
“Yes, it was…sorry where is Mr Ethan?” I asked if my voice was laced with a little hint of anger and determination.
Mr Jones immediately gazed at me and realized that I wasn't all that happy, “Right this way.” He said as he pointed at the door leading to the sitting room.
Just as I and Mirabel paid off the cab driver, we walked towards the door.
As my hand was about to turn the doorknob, the door was opened from the inside revealing Ethan Liam, my husband with…
“Eva Scott!”
“What! What is going on here Ethan?!”
“What are you doing with my step-sister?!” I asked as I saw Eva Scott wearing my robe.
