Chapter 12

506 Words
Amira walked into the room; it was a lilac and gold colored room. She walked around the room that was about 700 square feet. The room had a king-sized bed and a reading area filled with books in different languages. Amira wondered if she understood other languages. She opened one and understood every word, it was not English, she did not know which language it was, however. Amira made a mental note to find out more information on other languages and to see if she knew them. Amira sat on the bed and the moment she felt the fabric she was engulfed by such warmth and comfort that she did not think twice about jumping under the covers. She had no idea how long she had wandered around the place but she knew that it had felt like an entire day. Amira had spent way too much time in the hospital and sleeping therefore, she could not tell what normal time passing felt like. As Amira was beginning to relax into a slumber a thought made her jump up in fear; what if she felt in a coma with no one to help her? Amira looked for anything that could tell her what day it was, or time for that matter, but there was nothing. In the hospital, Amira could at least tell what day it was by looking at the charts. Amira decided to get a book and read in bed instead. She had a fear of sleeping and she knew sooner or later she would have to give in. Amira, however, was very determined to beat the clock if she could. While browsing through the books, Amira stumbled upon a photo album. The first page was a dedication page. For my dear Genesis, This is your beginning, only time will tell what the end will bring. Remember, my daughter, that you can have whatever you want. You have a good heart, I know it to be a fact; when I first felt you in my tummy I knew you were light… I knew you were good. Remember Genesis, black and white are usually blurred by gray. To find your way home you will need to cross where the lines blur. Keep your loving heart and your happy personality. You are nothing like me. You are meant to be great, you will be great. Love, Mom Amira envied this Genesis, she had people looking for her, she had a mother that loved her and dedicated a letter to her. She knew that the genesis Liam had confused her with and that Genesis was the same person. It would be a huge coincidence otherwise, and Amira wished she was Genesis if only for a brief moment. Amira hugged the album pretending it was for her. Whoever it belonged to, it seemed like it had been there for a long time. Although the place was tidy, there was no sign of any inhabitants there. Amira considered calling herself Genesis but decided against it for the time being.
