Chapter 10

581 Words
Meanwhile, in the hospital, Amira was waiting for the discharge document from doctor O'Neill. Amira knew that the doctor was busy at home getting Leo situated; therefore, he would not be back soon. Amira grabbed the clothes the doctor had left for her and got dressed. She slowly walked out of the room knowing that it was a shift change and that she would not be seen. One of the nurses had shown Amira videos of hair-cutting techniques. When no one was looking, she took a pair of scissors and cut her long locks. Amira needed to leave before the doctor came back. Amira knew if she stayed she would be sent away with strangers. On her way out she kept her head low, she didn't notice the man in front of her and bumped hard into him. Amira steadied herself without looking up, she just kept walking hoping the person would not pick a fight. "Excuse you!" The man yelled. Amira almost froze when she recognized the voice; she quickened her step. She could tell the man was following her and she knew he meant trouble. The man tried to keep up but once Amira made it out of the hospital she broke into a sprint. Amira had not run before and she was warned to take it easy on her body; she was still getting better from the coma. Amira was too fast for the man and lost him in a matter of seconds. In a regular person's life, running after a coma would have been devastating, but Amira was not, ordinary human, Amira was magic. That girl looked familiar, the man thought to himself. He made his way to Amira's old room where he was informed that Amira had been moved elsewhere. When he finally managed to get his hands on a coat, he looked for her some more. It seemed that with Leo's waking doctor, O'Neill had gotten more work done. One of the things he noticed was how tight security was in the doctor's locker room areas. The man finally made it to Amira's room but he noticed that it was empty. It finally hit him that the familiar girl he had bumped into had to have been Amira. She had a lead on him. Catching her was going to be close to impossible, the only thing on his side was that Amira did not seem to remember she had powers. He turned around to chase her when he bumped into a hard body. "Watch where you are going." The man said, looking up ready for a fight. "Liam I presume? " Doctor O'Neill asked. "You must be confusing me." "Amira, are you okay?" O'Neill asked, blocking his path. "Amira?" He asked worriedly. "She is not here," Liam answered. "What did you do to her?" O'Neill asked. "She wasn't here when I came in, " he answered in surrender. "Amira?" O'Neill ran inside the room. The room was empty and there were no signs of Amira. O'Neill quickly grabbed the man and walked towards the security office. Once he reached the office, he had the team look at all the cameras; he based his search on Liam's alleged arrival time. One of the cameras caught when Amira broke into a sprint. At the same time, the signal cracked and Amira was gone from their view. O'Neill grabbed Liam by the collar and demanded an explanation one of the guards grabbed the doctor while another grabbed Liam.
