I held my hand out to Hecate, she took my hand and guided me to the edge of the water.
“You must go in on your own and emerge on your own,” Hecate stated as she stood by my side.
I nodded at her and took the first step into the lake. I was bracing myself for the moment that my toes touched the cold water, I expected that my body would grow numb and freeze up from the blistering cold waters as they moved up my body. I wasn’t expecting what happened when my foot finally sunk into the shallow water.
