  LUKE   Atom leads Scarlett back through the forest. Her tongue is hanging out of the side of her mouth, and she is panting heavily. She jumps into every muddy puddle she can find, sending it flying into the air.   We finally make it back to the log where all of our things had been stashed. Our clothes are soaked with rain, and the binder my mother gave Kat is ruined.   I quickly shift back into my human form and turn to look at Scarlett. Her black paws are covered in mud, and her white fur is speckled with brown spots. She sits on the forest floor and whimpers as she looks at her wet clothes.
