Him again?! *sighs*
Thud!
The man panted as he abruptly closed the door behind him. He barred it with different kinds of heavy objects inside the room.
He slumped on the floor as exhaustion caught up to him. The whole night was very long, he only wanted to enjoy his life leisurely and without worries but instead at the very beginning he got entangled with people that led to this.
“They’re not bad people, just misunderstood I guess.” He chuckled as he himself could not say if those people were good or bad. All he knew was they took him in, taught him things and used him for their own gains.
“Hahahahaha!"
“I’m powerful and yet I let them use me." He chuckled a little more before it got replaced with coughing. He coughed up blood as he was already injured from the start.
“Now, I'm gonna die by myself here in this secluded room within the castle towers.” A sigh came out of him.
It won’t be long ‘till they found him. The place may be secluded but it was still part of the castle.
“Ha! This is so absurd I cannot even grasp it properly."
The man leaned back on the wall as his internal injuries got worse from using too much magic. If he wasn’t betrayed this won’t happen to him.
“Feeding me poison? Tsk! So absurd!” He recalled the master’s last words to him.
“I really can see I’m so stupid!” He coughed and laughed at the same time as he still could not accept the fact that he may be powerful but he sure was too trusting.
Blood spewed out even more from his now dry lips. His breathing got heavier and heavier as he felt his end close.
He thought of how he could get back at those people before his last breath left his body and the only thing he could think of was a curse.
A curse so powerful even their descendants would be angry at them. This thought made him chuckle again, he sure is weird.
“Are you done?”
He heard a voice not too far from where he sat.
It was a voice that he almost forgot. The voice came from a man clad in a white robe laden with golden threads at the seams.
“Did you enjoy your life here?” The voice added. Curiosity was the only feeling it gave off.
“Enjoy?”
The man thought for a second before a smile made its way to his pale face while he remembered the good old days. The days were he was still carefree and ignorant of the things that happened in the background.
“Yes, I did!"
“Hmm, but you don’t look like you did. At least not right now.” The man moved a little closer to him but still a few feet away.
“Would you like to have another go with it?” His face might be painted with a warm smile but it didn’t give him a warm feeling instead it gave him a very mischievous one.
“Another go you say? Are you even human?” He questioned him before he realized that this guy might look like one but he isn’t one.
“I forgot you are not!" His breath hitched as he continued to speak.
“I may not be human. I’m not even god or anything you can think of but I’m sure I can give you life as much as I want."
“Why?” The only word the man can think of.
The man in white robe only shrugged his shoulders, “It’s because you’re fun."
“Fun? What part of me is fun? You’re making me laugh.” He shook his head and coughed out more blood. He chuckled at the sight as he thought ‘will i lose a lot of blood first before I die or will I die first before I lose them.’
Dying sure made him think of a lot of weird things.
“You are fun!” The man exclaimed like it was very obvious but before he could continue his words loud noises drowned them.
They found him. Scuffles can be heard just behind the door.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
“Are you sure we can find him here?” One knight asked as they tried to open the door.
“No but we have to make sure every corner of the castle is searched. Now help me open this one. I was sure this wasn’t closed before”
“It might be that the door is just stuck.”
The knights outside tried to open the door as they ran and bumped it with their broad shoulders.
“Now I’m sure he is here.” One man said after a few more tries of opening the door.
“Come on, try harder!” The man ordered the other as they both tried to once again open it.
More knights came.
“This is troublesome.'' The injured man said as more knights gathered outside the door of the room.
“How can they even fit there? The hallway is too narrow."
“See, you are fun. You are focused on unnecessary things while your body slowly withers away.”
“You call that fun?”
“I call it curiosity in the highest form!”
He fixed his position as some parts of his body started to go numb from the static position.
“Curiosity? That’s a very uncouth thing to have at this time. Why not go for disappointment, fear, or even anger?”
“I am angry but not too angry to just linger on that one. I feel like I'm wasting time. I don't want to waste the little time I have.”
The man nodded his head as if he understood what the other said even a little.
“So, what will you do now? The door is almost open.”
“What else can I do? I'm not going down without a fight!” He adjusted his position once more before he took a deep breath as he guided his mana and conjured the undead.
Screams and sounds of sword clashing could be heard outside as the men fought the undead.
“This will keep them busy for a while." More blood escaped his lips as using magic made his death come closer.
The man looked around and he still could not allow himself to die like this in this kind of place. It was just too melancholic.
And melancholy is not in his book or at least he does not want it to be. All he wanted was peace and leisure.
He tried to stand up and looked for a way out but to his dismay he fell and slumped back hard on the stone floor.
He thought of things and the only thing that came to him was transportation magic.
It might be the only thing that could get him out of this predicament but his body was in no shape to use it. He had to think of another way.
The man in white robe only watched as the other struggled.
‘This one is the most fun of all’ he thought.'
He may struggle for life but his face never showed fear, anxiety, disappointment or even sadness. Instead, his face may look ashen and pale but it’s bright like a sunny day after a heavy rain.
So, he decided to help him. A rule broken for the first time. “So, you want my help?”
“No, thank you.” A firm answer was uttered amongst the loud sound.
“I can get out of here myself.” And with that he probed one of his wounds and started to draw a rune beside him.
After sometime, the outside became quiet and a blinding light flashed instantly leaving the room empty.
