I open my mouth to scream, to do something, but his hand clamps over it with startling speed. The sound that escapes is muffled and pitiful compared to the shriek that had been building in my throat. My legs kick out instinctively, my heels scraping uselessly against the gravel as he drags me toward his car. My heart is pounding so loud I can barely hear anything else. He shoves me against the cool metal hood of his car, the impact knocks a gasp from my lungs. His body looms over me, his closeness suffocating as he leans me over the hood, his hard chest pressing closely against my back. “You won’t scream?” His words scare me even more. The way he says it sends a fresh wave of terror surging through me. What does that mean? Why would he say that? What’s he planning to do if I don’t comply
