I jumped awake and looked around. Aiden was not next to me. I looked at the clock on the night stand. It was almost eleven in the morning. I jumped up and got dressed. I decided to wear the green sundress and tan sandals. I opened the door to the bedroom and to my surprise there was a man standing there. I almost ran into him. “Oh, I’m sorry.”
He turned around and looked at me without saying anything. It creeped me out. I took a step backward. I could smell that he was a wolf and because I did not know the pack yet I did not know if he was a member or not. “Are you alright?” He asked with almost a chuckle.
I took another few steps back, but he did not move. I started to get scared. I opened a mindlink with Aiden. There is a man outside the door and I’m scared.
It took a moment for Aiden to respond. Oh, that is Kevin. He is your personal assistant. He can be intimidating for sure.
Aiden always thinking.
He is harmless to you I promise. The link was cut and I looked at Kevin.
“Can I give you a bit of advice?” He c****d his head. “Make sure to say something to a girl when you are standing outside her room.”
Keven smiled. “Forgive me Luna I don’t get out much.”
“May I ask you something?” He nodded. “Why do you call me Luna?”
He looked at me with curiosity, as if I should have known the answer. “You are Aiden’s mate. That makes you the Luna of this pack.” I looked away from him. “As your assistant, I will answer any questions you have regarding this pack.” I had not noticed the clip board in his hand until he lifted it. “You have a meeting with Amy in less than an hour and you still need to eat.”
“Will you be keeping a schedule for me as well?”
“Yes, Luna. I have very strict orders on how to do this job.” He spoke so professionally and it was amusing. “I am here for you.”
“What are the odds that I can get to a shop to get more than just sundresses?” it wasn’t that I hated them, but I wanted more than just dresses to wear.
“As Luna, you will be expected to look a certain way. The dresses are a start. We can get you more clothes, but not many jeans or casual clothes.”
We started to walk toward the stairs. “This is going to be hard work, isn’t it?”
“Given your past, yes Luna, but you have all the support you need.” I could tell that he was being sincere and honest. It was nice to see that Aiden assigned someone like that.
“I like that you are so honest with me.” We got to the dining hall and there was a table set up with food waiting for me. I noticed that there was only one place set. “Kevin, are you not eating as well?”
“I eat when I have time. This is my job.” I rolled my eyes. “What?”
“Kevin, if I eat you eat.” I spoke with a bit of conviction. It did not mean to sound so demanding, but it came out that way. I could tell that my tone surprised him.
“Is that an order, Luna?”
I smirked for a moment then stood up straight and put a serious look on my face. “Yes, Kevin. From now on, when I eat you eat.”
“So very Luna of you,” he joked.
“You think that was a good command? I mean I really tried.”
“You did very well.” We sat down and he waved his hand to the servants to bring him a plate as well. “We have about 30 minutes before Amy arrives.” I nodded and we ate in silence. I was starting to get used to the meals here. There was always something good to eat. Before I lived here, I was lucky to eat once a day. I was super skinny then. I worried about gaining weight from all the good foods.
“Is there a place to exercise here? I don’t wanna get fat.”
Kevin raised an eyebrow. “I don’t think that will be a problem, but I will show it to you later.” Kevin, then got that far away look in his eyes for a moment. “Amy is here and ready in your office, Luna.”
“I have an office?” I was not aware that I did,
Kevin smiled. “Yes, Luna. It is down the hall from the Alpha’s office. I shall take you there as soon as you are ready.” I smiled at him and stood up. We walked out of the dining hall and I followed him down to my office. He opened the door and held it open for me. “Here we are.”
