(A few months passed…)
Isla woke up with a smile on her face. She turned to her side and Johanne was still asleep. She quietly lifted his arm around her waist and stood up slowly to avoid waking up her husband.
She tiptoed towards the door that separates their room from Julien’s room. She walked straight into his crib. She leaned down and kissed their baby on the forehead lightly to prevent him from waking up. Then she heard a light knock on the door and Julien’s nanny peeked in.
“Good morning, Mrs. Delacroix.”
“Hi, good morning,” Isla smiled.
“ Is he still sleeping?”
“Yes, I’ll be bringing him to his pediatrician today for his monthly check-up. You can go with me since Johanne has a conference meeting today,” she said.
