We finally arrive at school. Jihyo still had to find a particular spot in able to park his car, so it took us some time before being able to hop out.
I take a glance at my wristwatch to check what time it is, and it made me jump out of shock because I just noticed that I am running late for my first class.
The teacher is really strict about the time so I have to be there immediately unless I want to have a hell to pay.
Waving my hands goodbye, I wheel round to grapple with Jihyo. “Oh my gosh! Jihyo, thank you so much. I really appreciate your efforts. I'm sorry I can't stay any longer, I am getting late for my class. I have to go first. See you around!”
“Hey, Mara, wait-” Jihyo tries to stop me by grabbing my arm with unblinking, focused eye contact.
It is a bolt out of the blue that made me rooted in my spot as I stare back with wide eyes and raised eyebrows. But then, I eventually regained enough energy to speak, “Why?”
“Uh…” just when Jihyo is about to speak he is suddenly interrupted by some noise.
“What are you doing right now with my girlfriend?” we suddenly hear a voice which I am no stranger to out of nowhere.
“Wait, what?” I reacted as I look in the direction where the voice came from. My jaw drops at the sight of the monster, Kim Seojun. “G-Girlfriend?”
What is wrong with this day? It is just starting and yet so much trouble has happened to me already.
It's not even Friday the 13th.
“And you,” he points at me, “Why are you hanging out with another guy?”
“Excuse me?” Jihyo is just as shocked as I am. “May I beg your pardon?” He narrows his eyes at Seojun before proceeding to look at me with a sour expression, “Seriously? He is your boyfriend?”
“Of course n-” I was going to protest but I got cut by the big hand of Seojun reaching for my mouth out of nowhere, almost covering my whole face.
Seojun's expression beams with light as his chest sticks out like being proud. “Well, yes, of course,” he said as he wraps his arm around my shoulders and then curls his lips up to show his big and wide smile at Jihyo.
Jihyo's smile is very comforting to look at, but this guy Seojun?
His smile is enough to try the patience of a saint, I swear.
I roll my eyes and wrinkle my nose at his statement which is just as disgusting as how he looks when he's wearing that smile.
“Mmph!” I struggle as I try to slip through his grip, but my strength could never be compared to his.
Seojun stares down at me. His expression turning to something that is telling me to blow with his wind, “Let's go, Babe,” he said and drags me along with him.
Jihyo stands stock still in his spot with his brows creasing, completely had his head messed with what just happened, as we walk away from him.
When we are far enough from the parking lot, Seojun finally let me go.
“Babe?” I imitated his tone on how he addressed me a while ago. I acted like I am about to vomit, “What the f—?” I click my tongue and roll my eyes at him, “In your dreams, lame rat.”
He clenches his jaw and lowers his eyebrows with what I said. “Excuse me, what did you just call me?” he asked with an obvious presence of annoyance in him, “Try calling me that once again, and you will be resting in peace.”
“You always make threats against me with the death thing,” I roll my eyes at him, “You're so annoying!”
Seojun looks like he's been sent into a range and places his hand on the wall behind me. “Well, simply because I can execute you whenever I want to without a hitch.”
He does not even look scary at all.
“Do you know why you are still alive after what you have done to me?” he points at his bruise on his face where I hit then he leans in closer to whisper in my ears, “Only because I'm granting your right to live.”
And then he stands up straight again but avoids eye contact with me, “And about what happened a while ago… I was just uh…”
I cross my arms in front of my chest, anticipating what he is going to say next.
“There was this girl from our class who's head over heels in love with me…” I scoff at his statement. Wow, I really can't believe that someone can have confidence this high.
“I find her really irritating, I did that so that she would—” he suddenly stops talking then clears his throat, “It's none of your business. Why am I even wasting time to explain myself to you? You are my slave anyway, I can do whatever I want with you.”
“Hold on, Mister Kim Seojun. I am not your toy,” I glare at him, though I'm a little nervous about what he could do to me.
Seojun leans again and made steady eye contact with me while his brows raised. “You are indeed not my toy, but you're my slave. You probably have the common sense to know the difference,” he whispered, “So shut up before I kill you!” then his voice raises with each word.
“Aish! You are so annoying!” And with that, I run past him and headed to be in attendance with my class.
???
The day has finally ended leaving me with a lot of school work to do. Assignments, projects, all loads of requirements. Kinds of stuff that teachers give to torture the students in a different way.
It makes me lost in contemplation and it takes all my energy away already.
I walk through the locker hall as I need to grab something from my locker first before going home.
After picking some books that I might need, I continue my way to the school gate. It is a quiet and peaceful walk until Choi Seokmin pops out of nowhere.
“Yoon Mara!”
“What the f— hey! You startled me!” I accidentally hit him with the book I am carrying.
“Ow!” he rubs his head in discomfort. “Hey!”
“Oh, no. I'm sorry, Seokmin,” I pat his head too as an apology, “Why would you appear like that all of a sudden?”
“Does it hurt a lot?” I asked as I feel really bad for that.
“Nah, I'm fine. I was just going to ask you if we could study together tonight,” he said shyly.
What's this? Is he being uneasy? What a cute sight.
“You got the highest score a while ago, and I could not actually keep up the lesson so…”
“Of course, it's my pleasure to help you, Seokmin,” I chuckle at him, “To do a good friend a good turn.”
“Thank you,” he smiles, “Do you mind if we go to my house?” he asked which made me pause in indecision.
“Uhh,” I scratch my nape as I couldn't put my mind into words, but I couldn't turn back on it either.
“Shall we go?” he asked as he grabs the books from my grip, being a gentleman.
“No, Seokmin.” Someone intervene in once again. “She is coming with me.”
Seokmin and I both turn only to see Seojun standing behind us.
“Hyung,” Seokmin greets him with a smile, “I'm sorry, but Mara just agreed to come with me.”
“She's my property, Choi Seokmin. Shut up,” Seojun rudely said to his friend. He snatches the books from Seokmin's hands and grabs my arm as he drags me along with him AGAIN. He does that all the time indeed, dragging me all around like his pet.
“Hey, Seokmin, I'm sorry!” I yelled at him, though we are already distant from him. I am not certain if he heard it, but I hope he did.
“Are you guys going out?” Seojun asked me out of the blue.
“What?” I reacted as I try to stop walking. Thankfully, he stopped as well.
“I asked if you are dating my friend. Can you not hear properly?” He's literally showing that he does not have a good manner.
“Of course I'm not! Excuse me, Seokmin and I just met,” I told him, “He is just a friend of mine. Don't overreact.”
“Defensive huh,” he then hands me the books hardly back, “Those things are yours. Why am I the one carrying them?”
“Because you decided to grab them from Seokmin out of the blue,” I roll my eyes. Then we continue walking to his car.
As we hop in, he starts the engine right away, “I usually do not mind about school, but now I have to because I prefer not to fail again.”
He did not even open the door for me, not like what Jihyo did this morning.
What a turn-off.
Wait, why would it even set me at odds when I don't even have a crush on him? I must probably have lost my mind.
I did not respond to that as I don't care anyway.
It got so quiet that I could hear a pin drop.
“Where are we heading to?” I asked to break the silence. He is seriously giving me mental acquisitiveness.
“To my house.”
No way.
