The Captain of the Marabel had brought her back south, despite his orders to stay off the coast of O’Connor land. The squall that blew in was rougher and lasted longer than most storms, so he made for safe harbor, both for the protection of his ship from the ocean, and to keep his crew from unfriendly villagers.
Once docked in the relative safety of Dingle, he sent a rider north to inform Grady of the change in plans. It took the rider three days and a change of horses, but he finally arrived at Fallbrook, and that’s where he caught up to the man who owned the Marabel and promised wealth.
