I had not expected to see my ex here in the hospital. Why was she here? And, with him. Nate Harrison. They were holding hands and looked like they were having a moment. Biting my lower lip, I reached for Alissa's hand. The doctor had already warned her not to get stressed, as it was not good for the baby growing inside her. She had had a little bleed, but luckily it was nothing serious, and the baby was healthy.
"Hello Max, Hello Alissa." Maddy greeted us with a coldness that made my heart sink.
Why the hell was she having this effect on me?
We were over.
I was with Alissa now.
Maddy was supposed to be miserable, sad and alone.
But, she was not.
In fact, she was glowing, a radiance of happiness.
