The next couple of days seemed to pass in a blur of preparation. Nate was efficient, reminding me how the Everly company preferred small talk and punctuality. I told myself that I was absorbing it all on a professional level.
Because the Everlys were a huge account, this would be the first signing event I'd ever attended. But deep down, I knew the real reason my stomach flipped every time I thought about it: I'd be walking into that room with Nate. As his "girlfriend."
And there would be people watching. Judging.
By the morning of the signing, I'd undergone three outfit changes before settling on a deep green dress that felt polished but not flashy. Sarah kept telling me I'd be brilliant, no matter what I wore. I just wanted to be Professional enough for the Everl
