Epilogo:

"Hey Mun! We're going to have party, and it will surely be fun, there are lots of girls coming! Would you like to come along?" Aimunn was talking to Jeff using his phone.

"Nope, A big pass. Maybe next time." he answered seriously.

"How many times did I hear that next time? Better visit a doctor bro. Bye!" halos ilang beses na rin kasing tumanggi si Aimunn sa alok ni Jeff.

Nang tumigil si Jeff sa pag salita ay itinapon ni Aimunn ang kanyang cellphone papunta sa kanyang kama, hindi siya galit sadyang ayaw niya lang laging humawak ng cellphone. He seldom used his phone for social medias. All he knows is to answer a call.

Sawa na si Aimunn sa ginagawa niya halos ilang taon ding pa ulit-ulit ang nangyayari sa buhay niya. s*x and DRUGS those are the two things made his previous year alive. Ngayon lang nagsimulang magbago ang lahat.

Simula nong makausap ni Aimunn ang kanyang ama halos araw-araw na silang umaalis ng magkasama, yung mga bagay na gusto niyang madama at maranasan habang ang ama ay nasa kanyang tabi ay nagagawa na niya.

Halos gustong ibalik ni Aimunn ang nakaraan upang mapunan yung malulungkot na taon na lumipas, pumunta sila sa parke kung saan unang nadama niya ang inggit habang nakikita ang ibang batang masayang naglalaro kasama ang kanilang tatay.

Aimunn lived a happy two months together with his father but he never forgot to visit Keevah, he was too shy to say how he really feels for the girl. He just keep it to himself so that it will lessen the chance for Keevah to know the truth that happened to her mom.  And he knew Keevah will be absolutely enraged when she discovered what his dad kept for many years.

It was almost 2 months that passed, Aimunn just noticed how his dad lose his strength, he often saw his dad lying on bed staring straight at the ceiling. So he thought that something was wrong with him.

He went again to his dad's office inside their home, he was looking for something, something that will explain what's happening to his father.

Aimunn found some documents inside  an envelope properly inserted between the thick books inside his father's office. He found out that his dad is about to die after 3 months because of lung cancer which is already in its extensive stage.

Aimunn's hands trembled, his eyes shivered then suddenly tears streamed down out of his hazel brown eyes, he wiped the tears using his arms. He never expected that his dad is unhealthy for he was always out of the house attending several meetings.

Aimunn being so emotional, quickly ran going to his father's room crying, it was the first time he cried hard.

"Dad, why you didn't tell me?" he asked abruptly as soon as he arrived.

His father lying on bed watching nothing turned and looked at him slowly, Aimunn took baby steps one at time towards his father.

"cause I don't want to make you sad. Just for once I don't want to be the reason of your sadness. Lagi kang umiiyak dahil sakin. Lagi kang malungkot dahil sakin Kahit na hindi ko pinaramdam sayo na mahal kita bilang anak ko minahal mo pa rin ako." naghihingalong sabi ng kanyang ama habang sa mga mata nito'y may namumuong butil ng mga luha.

Aimunn never felt love from his dad since then, but he did love his dad unconditionally. Actually during the time when Aimunn was still studying, his father was his inspiration of doing activities, and the topic of the essays he had written. He never hid anger for him.

" Please don't leave me dad, I need you and I don't want to be alone." he begged while still crying, he held his father's cold pale hands.

"You've been living your life all alone my son, since  when you were just a kid. I disgust myself not letting you feel that I am always at your side whenever you need me, but I did without you knowing it. " his father held tightly to his hands, they were both crying together for the very first time.

" I will call your doctor dad. " Aimunn said eagerly.

" There's no need for a doctor, he already told me, he can't do anything to alleviate my condition right now. He gave my life a deadline."  his father explained as if dying is nothing, and just by looking to his eyes Aimunn can conspicuously see and say that his dad is ready to leave his physical body and be away from him forever.

Aimunn stayed inside the room of his dad chatting with each other and retelling all the happy moments they had experienced, he laughed with him as if everything is normal.

His son was sitting near him and slept when they ran out of happy stories to tell.

Aimunn woke up early to do a thing that will surprise his dad, he made 5 new poems for him. He wrote again after 18 years, he stopped doing it when he was grade 8 cause he thought that it was nonsense.

He knew that his dad love reading his poems, he saw one of them being printed on his dad's notebooks.

Aimunn on tiptoe entered the room so not to wake up his resting father, he wanted that as soon as his dad opens his eyes he will see him first.

While waiting Aimunn was trying to amuse himself by the things inside the room, he was reading the books and notebooks, watching the flying birds outside, writing another poems making it 10, and looking at his dad's pictures while he was still young.

Habang nagbubuklat ng mga larawan sa photo album ng kanyang ama nakakita siya ng mga litrato niya nong siya'y nag-aaral pa, ngunit ang mga litrato ay kinunan ng patago. Naisip na lamang ni Aimunn na merong binabayaran ang kanyang ama upang siya'y bantayan. Buong buhay niyang inisip na walang pake at hindi siya mahal ng kanyang tatay, ang hindi nito alam ay siya ang laging laman ng isipan ng kanyang ama.

Hindi namalayan ni Aimunn ang paglipas ng oras kaya nong pagtingin niya sa isang malaking relo ay alas onse na pala. Napagdesisyonan niyang lumapit at tingnan ang kanyang tatay na mahimbing pa ring natutulog.

"Dad, what do you want for breakfast?" Aimunn asked softly to his dad.

He touched him but his dad was so cold and his face was pale and still.

"Dad! Dad!" he shook his dad holding both of his arms, but he was still unmoving it was of no use. Aimunn was hoping to see his dad's eyes to even blink.

"Dad! Dad! I have written poems for you." Aimunn grabbed the paper on the table. "I want you dad to include this poems to the ones you already collected." he was showing to his dad all the poems he had prepared.

"Dad! Daaaaaaaddddd!!" he yelled.

"Daaaaaaaddddd!" he screamed then he outburst.

He never expected that he will be alone again, that his dad will really be away from him totally.

He was crestfallen for having and being happy together with his dad just for two months.

Naiburol na nga ang kanyang ama, lubos siyang nagluksa sa pagka wala ng nag-iisang taong minahal niya na ilang taon na.

Nadiskobre niya ang mga sulat ng ama sa kanya.

In every poem he had written his dad always replied but Aimunn never knew because it wasn't given to him.

(Written when he was Grade 7)

All I ever want is to have my dad,

If he loves me I don't know

Seeing him sad makes me mad

Day by day my love for him always grow

All I ever want is his love

I don't want anything else

I always want to give him a hug

The moment without him are hells.

"My Great Love "

I love you more than the combination of ETERNAL and FOREVER,

But did you ever love me even a little?

I just want a piece of love,

I don't ask for more...

I trust you more than my guardian Angel, next to the Man on the cross,

But why can't you love me?

Whatever path in the labyrinth you chose,

I'll not get angry,

If your path is dark,

Burn ME!

I want to light up your life with my flickering fire,

Be sure you passed the path before I turn to ash,

But if you don't,

I'll go with the wind,

To embrace and to protect you,

I'll be more than your shadow,

His dad's replies:

I love you since you were born but I decided not to have a lot of memories with you, everytime I saw you makes all the sins I had before flashback. But I can't get rid the fact that you are also a living memory of my sister. I may not let you feel that you are loved but I did it by giving you everything you need.

I worked hard for you, I didn't rest for you to have a good life, I know it won't suffice what you want. I even paid for someone to always take at look on your situation when you were studying.

I want you to know that I don't have other woman. I said it because I knew that you were there listening to me. I want you to hate me, but you never did. For all the years that passed there are only 2 persons that I loved, its you and your mom.

All the things I have earned from working hard will be all yours when right time comes, these will be the symbol of my love for you, so please take care of it, and take care of yourself too.

I love reading your poems, and if I were to choose to read between a best-selling book and your poems, I would definitely choose yours. Keep on writing for me, I would like to publish a book where all your poems are in it.

Aimunn stopped reading his dad's letter, he can't read anymore because of the freely flowing tears blocking his sight. He went to his room and collapsed on his bed.

A week later...

He was the heir of all the assets of his father. Everything that his father owned was given to him. The lawyer also handed him a letter written a month ago by his father.

Aimunn's dad put his words into letters if he can't speak directly to his son.

Aimunn was thinking that it is probably the information to find his mother.

"Aimunn, if you are reading this it means that I already went somewhere far, that my soul already left my body. Thank you for letting me feel that I am still a good father and thank you for your unending love that I can't reciprocate.

I knew that you have met Keevah, she is your cousin please don't fall in love with her, I don't want you to make a mistake that I did years ago. I don't want you to be like me hiding always since that kind of relationship is not accepted by everyone.

I hope that you will be able to find your mother, find her and let her feel the love I failed to give. I know she is just out there also watching you.

Please always take care of yourself and always remember that I have been loving you since you first cry in my arms.

Aimunn was astonished to know that Keevah, the one he already loved, is his cousin. He couldn't believe how things happened.  He didn't know if he can unlove Keevah. He knows that it is easy to be in love but hard to unlove.

Aimunn went to Keevah, it was 3 days before her graduation. But she was still looking for his mom.

"Kumusta ka na Aimunn? Nalulungkot ako sa pagkamatay ng ama mo. Alam ko kung gaano kasakit ang mawalan ng isang mahal sa buhay, yung tipong hahanap hanapin mo siya lagi kahit alam mong di mo na siya makikita." wika ni Keevah sa kanya habang siya'y nakaupo sa nakatumbang kahoy.

Walang imik si Aimunn nakatingin lang siya sa dalaga, hindi niya malaman kung yun na ba ang magiging huling pag bisita niya kay Keevah, dahil gusto na niyang umiwas. Gusto niya na sana'y mabawasan ang pagmamahal na nararamdaman niya sa kanyang pinsan.

"Alam mo, nagpapasalamat ako sa lahat ng tulong mo, sa pagdala ng pagkain, sa pagbigay ng pera para sa graduation fee ko, tsaka sa pagtitiis mo dito sa bahay na sabing mong bahay ng aso. Thank you ah." at niyakap nga siya ni Keevah.

Uminit ang pandama ng binata, bumilis ang pagtibok ng kanyang puso, at tumigil ang kanyang paghinga. Naging normal lang lahat ng kanyang pandama nong bumitaw na ang dalaga.

" You're welcome. Please don't wait for your mom. Di mo na siya makikita kahit kailan. Wag mo na siyang antayin para di ka masaktan." nauutal na sabi ni Aimunn.

"I think this will be the last time that you will see me. Reach for your dreams. I don't know if destiny will permit to make our paths cross again...but I hope it won't happen."

Nahiwagaan si Keevah sa sinabi ng binata.

"But if you need me andito lang ako lagi para sayo Aimunn." Keevah sweetly answered then she gave him a wide smile.

Aimunn began to walk away... Didn't even care to what lies ahead.

All he knew was to stop his feelings and find his mom to complete the puzzle of his life...
