Unexpected Love

The sun was setting over the bustling streets of the city, casting a warm orange glow over the crowded sidewalks. Amidst the chaos, Sophia walked with a sense of purpose, her eyes scanning the crowded streets for a familiar face. She had been in the city for a few weeks now, having fled her abusive stepfather in Canada. The memories of her past still lingered, but Sophia was determined to start anew. She had reconnected with her childhood best friend Kat and was slowly rebuilding her life. As she turned a corner, Sophia spotted Kat waiting for her outside a trendy coffee shop. "And this is my boyfriend Sam and his friends Alex and Colby. Sophia's eyes met Colby's, and for a moment, time stood still.
