Rebels Camp

Elderling landed on a small island that looked deserted. "Are you sure that there is people on this island?"  Cooper asked. He looked around in caution, with a slight hint of fear. Elderling rumbled out a laugh. "I'm serious! They could try to kill us. I don't think that is funny."     "He's not laughing because of that. He is laughing because you being scared all the time is funny." I pointed out. Cooper scowled at me and muttered to himself. I rolled my eyes and patted him on the shoulder. "Worry less, smile more."     "You make everything sound so easy when it's not. How do you not worry so much?" Cooper whined.     "Whining doesn't suit you, honey. Act mature. We have a job to do, and if we fail at this, well, I'm sure that we have plenty enough allies waiting for us in the future. This war is happening whether we like it or not. Do stop glaring at me. I will add more bruises to the ones that are still healing."     "Remind me not to get on your bad side again. I don't even remember what I did. I don't think I want to even remember!" Cooper exclaimed.      "Whimp." I muttered.     "I will stay here until you are ready to leave." Elderling rumbled as he settled down comfortably. He rested his head on his front feet and quickly went to sleep.     "Well, I guess that's our cue." Cooper said. Instead of saying anything, I began to trek through the thick growth. "Do you think they will be easy to find?"     "Cooper, if they wanted to be seen, they would have built their village on or near the beach. For all we know, we could be entering the village right and not even kn-ah!" I screamed as I fell down a hole. Cooper let out a shout as he followed down.     I landed at the bottom, letting out a huff. Cooper then landed on me, causing all the air to leave me. I gasped as he rolled off. "I think something broke." I gasped out.     "Sorry." Cooper said. I sat up and paused at what I saw. "What are you looking at-oh." Cooper fell silent as he looked in front of us. Standing in front of us, silently standing there, is a bunch of people who look ready to fight.     "Um, hello." I said. I stood up as they pointed weapons at us. "Well, this is totally what I expected. I told you they would always be ready to fight, didn't I, Cooper."      "You are insane! They are pointing weapons at us and that is your only reaction." Cooper nearly yelled.     "I was tortured and r***d on several occasions. I have no need to fear them." I pointed out. He paled. Ignoring Cooper, I turned to the Rebels. "Hello, my name is Evie and this weirdo is Cooper. I am leading the war for the side of the good or however they are veiwed. We are trying to keep the peace and make sure no one's freedom is taken away from them." They put their weapons down. "Hey, I said something right for once. I knew I would do something right!"     "Is it common to make mistakes?" Cooper asked.     "You'd be surprised." I answered. I turned back to the Rebels. "Do you have a leader or some one I can talk to?" I asked.     "That would be me?" A dwarf lady stepped forward. "What can I do to help you?"     "Awesome. Well, like I said before, I am leading the war to defeat the assholes who intend to take over the world and rule it in darkness. I'm trying to get as many allies as I can so we can live in peace, ya know? I heard about this place from a friend. I was just wondering if you would like to help. I hear you hate having your freedom taken from you, and if you don't mind my asking, what is your name?"     "My name is Blaze. You are correct, we hate having our fredom taken away from us. Don't expect any of us to bow to you." Blaze informed. I grinned.     "I see this as the beginning of a beautiful friendship." I declared. "I hate people bowing to me, so you don't have to worry about that. Now, how great are you at defense. I want to know everything. Everyone here looks so strong and very well challenged. I want to know your history and what your culture is like. Tell me!" I demanded childishly. Cooper faced-palmed and sighed. Blaze looked at me in surprise and amusement.     "Is this normal for you?" She asked.     "Not really. I have been told I have gone a little insane since I was tortured for two years. A broken piece in my brain, but I don't let that get in the way of my life. Not even the nightmares I get on the rare occasions. So, want to show us around?" I said.     "I don't know what it is about you, but I sense we are going to get along very eaisly." Blaze declared.      Blaze spent two hours showing us around her home. The whole village is underground, which is really cool. There is a stream of fresh water that leads to a lake. They had a mini area where they grew crops, which I found rather fascinating. They had their own way of healing injuriess wuicker than the normal ways. They also have good acohol.     "This place is so cool! No wonder you love living here! Will you come with me later to meet my friend. He is rather big and wouldn't have been able to follow us. I think we will stay here for a while if you don't mind. Get to know your ways more." I said.     "That is all very well. It seems the children are rather interested in you. Would you like to speak with them? Tell them a story perhaps?" Blaze asked. I saw the childrens eyes light up and I knew I couldn't resist. I skipped over to them and sat on a tree stump.      "Hello little ones. I see you like stories?" I asked. They nodded enthusiasticly. "Well then, I want to tell you a story about the Ghost of Avir." I said. Their eyes widen as they huddled together. This is going to be so much fun!
